View Full Version : diverter valve ,,help cant find it ..??

was gonna put in my new DV but I can't find it.. ?? anyone knows where its at? is it hard to get to?? need a jack or anything? I looked all over the engine but I don't see it :( its a 2000 wagon quattro 1,8t thx

all you gotta do is remove all the intake cover components and the engine cover...you should see a little knob like looking thing (diverter valve) in the space between the air box and the turbo. It's on the turbo inlet pipe

NOOOOOO... go underneath your car and take off the belly pan and look towards the front of the motor, you will find it.

I put in mine today, it takes about 20-30 minutes, remove the belly panel, it is at the passenger's side, you will see it right away, make sure you get new brackets, so you don't have to run to the parts store. get a small one and a medium, about 4 bucks.
To remove the hoses just play with them a little (pain in the a$$)

its cool man
any way.. took me a little bit longer cuz i wanna make sure i dont screw anythign up in a hurry. Got it replaced and i quote my wife: "Rico, why do you have to go ride your car at midnight ??" haha well you know how it is, youre not gonna wait till the morning to see if it fixed it. Anyway it did! boost is smooth now!!!everything seems to be working great!!! im so happy.. took it for a 30 mile test ride... boost after boost :) woohoo!

thansk for all the help guys!! now i can sleep after 3 days of worries :)
