View Full Version : Very Slow
[confused] well i live in vancover its been pretty warm for the past few days (around 30 degrees celsius)
when the temperature rises to about 27 degrees my car starts to feel very sluggish and is comparable to stock (revo 93 program loaded)
is it normal for our cars to be slow in hot weather? [confused]

2.0T's are not really fast cars anyway, even with a chip. Our cars are affected by temperature. The heat can cause them to feel sluggish. When I first chipped my car, I thought it was pretty quick, now I think it is very average. Peace
i know its average, but the low end torque is pretty obvious. when its really hot i just cant feel anything at all, but later at night the car changes back to normal

Of course heat and humidity and weather in general will mess with the performance of a force inducted engine. The cooler the temp, the better the car will perform.

Higher heat and humidity affect ALL combustion engines.
Turbo's suffer as well, but at least we still have FI to recover.
Turbo's respond so much better to colder denser air than NA engines, that when it's warm they feel slower. But, the NA engine cars I've had feel the heat just as much if not a bit more.
Also, if you have an automatic with a slushbox (torque converter), then you'll feel the hit with higher temps even more as your trans heating up will zap performance adding to the engines less output as well.
My A$ manual still feels alright and mine is stock with a 6pd. manual.
