I am planning on making my own LED tail lights but that isn't what this is about. I am thinking of putting the S6 DRL LEDs in the bottom of my fog light grille. I will be removing the fogs completely, because I have never found a use for them. I will also be inserting RS4 mesh. I have a RS4 grille, and I am thinking about putting brushed aluminum like the trim on the grille around the fog light grille. It will be placed on the sides and top with the LEDs on the bottom. If I can't use the S6 LEDs then I will have to custom some for this project. What do you guys think of this idea and where could I get brushed aluminum trim? I am thinking I should have someone else do the metal work so it looks right. Maybe I will call up ABT or Oettinger or Quattro and see if they can do it. Also the center bar in the fog grille will be removed. I wish I could photoshop this stuff so you can see what I am thinking. Let me know what you guys think and add any ideas you have. Thanks.

well when you guys get the a6 leds youll notice that they are curved and will fit in the top of the fog light recess. the real problem is the housing curves and you will neeed to cut out a notch for the light it also looks light the led unit will hit the intercooler. plus you will have to get new wiring connectors due to the fact they have different connectors than the standard fog.

I've actually purchased the S6 LED strip and will be starting this mod in the next month or so....so far it looks like fitting it in the fog area is not a problem but only on the lower part of the fog area(not sure if you get this)...this is mainly because theres a screw there that seems to be a screw holding the bumper in place...and I don't want to tamper with this.. i'll be looking for a solution tho..
also it looks like a custom bracket will need to be needed to hold the LED in place....oh well we'll see how it goes =D
oh and the LED tails! DO IT ...

If you need brushed aluminum and someone who can fabricate for you, just do a local search for metal fabricators online.
I work with metal/aluminum fabrication shops in my line of business. They will be able to help you with no problem what so ever. Try to find a small shop that will work with you and your ideas.

Sadly I am in Italy and I don't speak Italian. My wife is Austrian so I will have here look around up there. Thanks
bunnn - The thing I am really worried about is whether the curve of the LEDs properly matches the curve of the fog light area. If it is a good match then I will get the LEDs really soon. I may have this done by the beginning of July if I can get my ass in gear.
Also, will have RS4 rear sway installed this week, just need to figure out what day I will do it.
Thanks for the help and ideas thus far. This isn't one of those I won't do it if people don't like it threads; it is a thread to make sure that I have thought of everything and get ideas from all of you here.

I'll try to get you some pictures over the week on a nonsline bumper on how they fit......im not worried at all about it fitting up, as my bumpers already cutted for the rs4 grille i wouldnt mind mod'ing it some more...my biggest concern is a bracket to hold it in place...but whatever it is ..it should be done by august latest..

Thanks. I am hoping I don't have too much trouble with the bracket. I have a friend with a welder, so I will probably use that to make a nice metal bracket. Then I will just have to figure out a couple of places to attach it to the bumper, but that shouldn't be too hard. When I had the bumper off the other weekend it seemed like there were several places that I could attach it to.
