just replaced my cyl #2 Coilpack and it didnt bog anymore, but now it will boost, sometimes surge to about 15 psi, sometimes to 10, but as soon as i hit 3k rpms, the car will fall flat on its nose and have 0-2 psi of boost. anyone have this problem. im leaning towards the n75 or icm. any help would be appreciated.

sooo... no one has this problem before?

I'd help if I could. Sounds kinda like limp mode but I don't really know since i haven't experienced it.

Sure is limp mode

Gonna run a search for the codes on aw now...

Id have to say to check the n75 since the boost isnt level and spiking, causing the ecu to throw it into limp mode

what year is your car?

sounds like the ECU thinks you are overboosting, which the manual gauge doesnt show.

Its a 2000

05-29-2007, 04:29 PM
duh, its in the sig. sorry.

i would check the map sensors' reading to see what it is telling the ECU about your boost levels.

Isn't limp mode usually 5 psi on the dot? I would also look for some boost leaks too...

05-29-2007, 04:44 PM
usually, but if he has a problem causing it, it could have problems regulating it

17963 - Charge Pressure: Maximum Limit Exceeded
P1555 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent

that pretty much means it should see limp mode

im not very familiar with 2000's, but do they have throttle cut when they see 21psi and greater?

I've got an extra N75 around here if you need to try it out. Stock one I think.

thanks guys for the info, yea i will try and log the actual boost.. jim i will probably take you up on that as its easy to switch and its kinda what i am leaning towards... i find it really hard to believe that it would be a boos leak as i just replaced all the vac likes and checked them for kinks or disconnected lines that blew off and all looked good.

oh yea and if i want to ceck the map sensor is it block115 or something

well, found my problem, turns out i had a torn line going from the turbo to the n75, so i just replaced that one and the one that goes to the wastegate, problem solved.

It's about time you fixed that mess... [:p]

06-05-2007, 02:59 PM
haha that was just one of my problems, now to get my engine not so damn loud, that may be a late night project though...

06-05-2007, 03:11 PM
I think you may be cursed. That noise that showed up with you also disappeared with you. All is well again.

you suck, mine got louder i swear, maybe im just listening for it more, oh well. Oh and i now have a gang of your shit in my garage, just so you know
