Is anyone aware if any of the mainstream tuners (APR, Revo, GIAC, Neuspeed, etc.) are making any progress towards performance upgrades for the 3.2 V6 FSI engine (whether it's in an A4 or A6)?

If I have missed a thread or some online resource / news article, could you please direct me? Thanks in advance.

no one makes a chip yet.. pes is making a supercharger thats supposedly due out summer time... but what you can do now is get a exhaust. the 3.0 exhaust from the b6 is the same as the 3.2 b7 exhaust.

Haro, do you have an exhaust installed on your 3.2? If so what brand is it?

none of the major tuners a chip available, but independent local tuners do..i was considering one....

concerning the PES supercharger, are you 100% sure they are working on one? I've contacted them before and they said there will be plans for it in future, but not soon

other performance upgrades you could get is, s4 intake(carbonio, fits with a little modification)

So, would we all agree then, that a flash performance upgrade from one of the major tuners, is [several] years away for the 3.2 FSI engine?

I'm asking all of this b/c I'm contemplating replacing my 2005.05 2.0T with an A6 -- just need more room.

Looking at a 2004 A6 2.7T (36K mi) vs a 2006 A6 3.2 FSI (19K mi) -- both around the same stock HP. However, as we all know, you can flash the 2.7T and get upwards of 310 (or so) HP according to APR, REVO, etc. while there is nothing available (in the form of a flash) for the 3.2 FSI. So I'm thinking, "what the hell? why not grab the 2.7T and flash it for 300HP?" My only reservation is that the 2006 A6 is Certified Pre Owned -- which means it's covered by warranty (with sched maint b/c it has Audi care) until 2012.

Both are good deals pricewise, but it seems that if I elect to go with the 3.2 FSI car, I won't be able to flash it for a long time (if at all, b/c nobody came out with a flash for the old 3.0 engine, right?).

Feedback?

Feedback?

I guess it all depends on what you priorities are...

The 2.7t is obviously the "sexier" choice but it can also bring more issues down the line if you start modding it. Blown turbo's are not uncommon on the 2.7t. Its also an older body style, has more mileage, etc.

The newer car is just that....newer! The fact that it's covered until 2012 is also very attractive.

Tough choice...but I'd probably go for the 2006 (if price is not a factor).
