View Full Version : Post your year and mileage!!!!

This may have been done before, but I want to see how many miles you guys have on your cars. We all know how reliable audis are(sarcasm) ;-). I'm wondering if I should be looking into getting rid of my 2000 2.8Q with 80k and get a new audi. If I keep it, I'll do the timing belt soon. Basically, I'm wondering if it's worth keeping the car after it hits 90k. Please post year of car, if it's a 1.8 or 2.8, mileage, and sum up your experience with the car. No need to go into detail. Just state if the car has been good to you or not. Thanks in advance.

99.5 1.8t 77k miles
Not in the mood to list the mods but the car pulls extremely well, noticably harder than a chipped A4.

History:
-bought it a year ago with 50k. replaced:
timing belt
water pump
tensioner
clutch/flywheel
PS pump
rear passanger wheel bearing
driver's seat airbag
downpipe
wastegate actuator
bailey's BPV
ICM
ignition switch

I plan on keeping it until the wheels fall off or 3 years after i'm out of college (whichever comes first)

I have a 99.5 1.8T with a little over 55k. Only problems i have had were control arms, and fuel sensor, and i'm in the process of fixing the control arm thing. I love the car and will not give it up. I want to see who has the lowest about of miles and with the oldest car

2000 1.8T 78K....it's been fairly good to me except when there was carbon buildup in the intake valves, it took 2 stealerships and 1 independent mechanic and they couldn't figure it out. Blamed it on my chip and cut-off. Finally a dealership in PA pin-pointed the pblm. But I did get new parts put in with the all troubleshooting they did,.oh but was also out of a car for atleast 3 months. Renting POS's suck.

99.5 2.8QM with 96K. Tons of freeway miles on this baby. Zero problems to date and I have decided to keep her long term as my work car. This way, I can get my Prosche (1996) in a couple of years.

Thanks alot guys. In jest I make the relaibility comment. But in truth, my car is a ROCK. I don't complain about minor things. As long as the car doesn't get me stranded(knock on wood) it's still a great car. I did the control arm, tie rods, and had a leaky camshaft seal. All fixed under warranty and while I was at work so virtually no down time.

Honestly, I've been looking around and there are only two cars out there that come close to the A4 (in performance, price range, looks, handling, and just having that special something). 3 series CI and.....actually only one. Everything else is either in the 50k range or just can't come close.

I love my car, and the B5 chassis. Personally,I feel comfortable having a warranty though. When I get close to 90k, I'll be looking for a new B5. Shout out to all who contributed.

Most likely it is the cam tensioner seals. Mine are going as well. It drips oil on the exhaust and then you smell it burning. Its is a job and a half to replace them. The cams must be pulled completely out in order to do it on a 2.8. It takes the mechanics most of the day to do both on an engine.

Snawb, what number did you call to see if your VIN was part of the recall? Oh, hmm, never mind, since your 99.5 isn't part of it, I guess my 2000 wouldn't be either. Crap.

2001.5 w/ 97k and still going smooth. got it about 25k ago but there's no problems at all. Had to replace the clutch and a fan belt, but that's about it. Other than that, I'm running this car into the ground before I get a new one, I love it!
