foglights and warranty

I was just wondering if you guys can activate the fog lights when your only on parking lights. My fog lights only work when I have my hid's on. Yet I see these B6 cars driving around with their foglights on without their hid's activated.
I wanna bring this in for warranty but I dont want to look stupid. Also i'm worried that by changing my grill to the rs4 grill will void that warranty. Is their any way that the mechanic touched the wires at all. Will that affect warranty for the fog lights because I took off the bumper?

Your foglight/headlight behavior is normal. IIRC, only 2002 B6s have the foglights w/o headlight feature. All of the others you may have seen have been hacked/spliced.

Thanks for the help mksap11. Its a good thing I asked first. How come we have the option to pull up the switch to activate the fog lights when the arrow points to the parking lights?

I did this to my A4 over a year ago (done it to all of my cars... they all work basically the same way). It looks clean on the A4 when you VAG the parking lights and remove the city lights. The proper way is to hookup a relay in there, not to just splice into a different 12V power source.

Dam, there was a write up? If you knew the crazy things I did to make mines work with out the headlights/DRLs a year an half ago. I also did the the Bi-Xenon headlamp Retro fit with out the write up at the same time, that was crazy to, haha oh well.

In Canada the B6 fogs act as DRLs. Completely normal and OEM.

Damn you b6's are lucky. The audi foglights looks so GOOD as a drl. I still dont understand why there is an option to activate the fog lights when your parking lights are on. Thats why I was wondering if it was broken. Ahh well.
