Hello all,

I was replacing the control arms this past weekend, and noticed a few things that look like they need addressed. One leak looks like my power steering fluid as shown here: (the gold piece with the blue mark on it)

Second leak looks like tranny fluid, coming from the transmission area by the shift linkage as shown in these pics:

So, what's needed to fix the leaks? I'm assuming the tranny is a o-ring or seal of some-sort. I'm not sure on the power steering area.

Also, what is involved in fixing these items, and is it something I can do myself?

Thanks for the help guys.

How hard is it to replace these parts?

Also, can you supply a link for the power steering part?
I found the seal on ECS tuning website, relatively cheap, but i wonder how hard it is to fix.

I still haven't done this maintenance yet. Does anyone know what is involved in replacing the seal on the transmission and replacing the high pressure Power Steering hose?

Or would it be best to take to a shop? I was able to do Timing belt/control arms...

Thanks!

Dealer said $300 for the transmission output seal and $300 for the high pressure power steering hose in labor. I know the Hose costs about $200ish..., seal is probably around $15. So we're looking at around $815 to fix.

Help an Audiziner out...any write up fixing, or tips... Anyone replace this themselves?
