Did anybody get their HVAC/Climate Control unit to light up? Seems like a pretty straight forward plug-n-play (plug-n-pray [:D]) on the HVAC unit, but the unit doesn't seem to light up when the parking/headlights come on. (Using a 2000 unit with CAN)

Before I end up hacking the PCB inside the HVAC unit, did anybody re-work the pin-outs or have another way of getting it to work?

Thanks

While I too hope there is a simple fix....I highly doubt there is (atleast a simple one). Someone should also try and figure out how to retro-fit the new style hazard switch to the old style wiring/connector. I wish I had more knowledge of electronics. [mad]

I have been really wanting to do this. Do you have to extend wires, or change interconnect clips etc? I just preffer the shifter surround area.

Only downfall is I would have to scrap my woodtrim on my dash since it wouldnt match with the center piece.

I opted for the single DIN because I dislike double DIN radio/NAV systems. I knew I wanted the brand new (at the time) Eclipse system. I used both the single and double DIN units....for some reason (very odd) the single had way better graphics.

If anyone needs the newer climate control without the heated seat controls pm me. I need one with the heated seat controls, so the one I have is for sale.

CAN bus illuminates the stock radio, I would think the same goes for the HVAC controls as well.

Do you have an emulator?

Fuse S3 on the MY2000 cars was used to illuminate the HVAC head unit.

Fuse S3 on he MY1999 cars was used to illuminate the glove box.

Why not draw the voltage signal for the MY99.5+ HVAC head unit from the S3 fuse? Both the S3 fuse on MY2000 and MY1999 are controlled via the light switch.

Symphony I and II does not use CAN to illuminate. Only the HVAC controls.

Call me when you get home. I'm tearing up the PCB tonight. 7805 voltage regulator and relay assembly is ready to implement. If I can't get these LED's to illuminate through the harness, then I'm taking other measures. I WILL have a 100% functional 2000 dash by this week. [:D] [up]

Hold on a sec.

I dont have my car in front of me...and I havent seen the wiring in a while, so bear with me. IIRC, the problem was the old style connecter did not fit into the new style hazard switch. So did you have to buy the connector off a 99.5+ harness to make the connection to the new hazard switch?

I'm a little confused. IIRC the new wiring plug had much smaller gauge wire then the wires in the 98.5 In your picture it looks like to me that the wiring is the same gauge. I'm just wondering if the peice you got is different or if you rewired to use the same gauge. BTW this is going to help me a lot. Just have to figure out the fog switch now. Also how did you wire the HVAC for the defroster?

does anyone know how to wire the fog lights? I can't figure out why mine won't stay on. I can get them to illiminate but the switch won't complete the circuit to the fog relays unless the button is held down. Does the facelift fogs just send an impuse signal to another switch to give the fog relays voltage to switch?
