Yep, pretty amazing what quattro can do even with a 4000 lbs pig.
I've never driven the short track at Thunderhill, looks real fun. Seems like that configuration would make you a more consistant driver because your doing more laps.

Very Cool Ron![up] Good to finally see footage and pics from a fellow Audiziner.
That layout of thunderhill is different. I've never seen that before. It's short and you miss the speed of turn 9 on the long version. Either way, you're looking good out there. On turn 2 try to stay more in the middle of the turn and slowly work the car inward so that you end up all the way in at the apex cone. After the corkscrew, I think it's turn 5a or 6, try the same thing with that. Stay in the middle of the turn and treat it like turn 2. Try that next time you go. If it makes you faster cool.
What group did you go with?

Thanks Spidee,
I will work on those turns next time I go?
I was with group A, Newbies with no track experience at Thunderhill, but half way through the day I got bumped to Group B.

Neat! When I'm cornering at those speeds and higher I end up having to use my left arm to hold my body in position due to all the G's being pulled >_<
Someone needs to get that airbag thing fixed with aftermarket seats...

I've never been to a road course. Hard to believe the Porsche passes. How's that possible?

Track performance is generally gauged as 40% driver skill, 50% balls, 10% car and any tuning done to the car.

If you plan on doing this more often, look into a set of track wheels.

You really should =D Its fun, and it was better then I expected. Its the only place I can unleash my car's full potential. if your around the Calfornia we should all go together. I am looking forward to tracking a lot more over the spring / summer

Factory seats work fine. Just buy Schroth 4 point ralley harness and the Top Spin Designs headrest bracket for the harness and your stuck in like glue! Total price about $400. Way cheaper than new seats.

But there's always the aesthetic factor for seats too [:D]

True, although for me to upgrade seats, they would have to be powered, black leather with built in harness holes and must be air-contitioned! I want air-contitioned seats way more than heated seats here in Cali.

If you guys want to save yourselves a crap load of money, try this CG LOCK (http://www.cg-lock.com/). It only costs $40. I just tried this last track day and it works well. It keeps your lower body planted. The upper body is already working and holding itself up by the steering wheel so I like.

HMM...I like, maybe I'll give that thing a try since you say it's only $40.

You can also go to Toys R Us and get a baby seat seatbelt lock for $2. Mine works great!
