What kind of oil?

I need to do an oil change. I want to know what kind of oil i should get.

The dealer told me that i should get Castrol Syntec 5w40.

The other dealer told me i should get Mobil 1 5w40.

which one should i get? sorry for the newb question but my waranty just ended and now i need to do this myself as my dealers charge 150 for an oil change [headbang]

Mobil 1 doesn't make 5w 40 for gasoline engines...just get the castrol or use mobil 1 0w40

I use Mobil 1 5w30!

Use an oil that meets VW 502 00 and VW 505 01 standards.
