My car was running fine, no problems. it sorta had a slow start up, but it always started within a sec or 2. i drive down to malibu which takes about 15min, nothing crazy at all. im about to start my car and its not even turning over or making a clicking noise...got it towed to my audi local mechanic. what could the problem be, im thinking coilpacks or the starter went out

Seloniod, clutch pedal switch (or netral saftey if auto), dead battery, bad connection at battery or ignition switch

I would say its one of those

you can add bad ground to the starter.

Sounds stupid but sometimes the rug gets caught in between the clutch and the flooring, limiting max amt/pressure and its not enough for the switch

not to be a jerk but did you try coast starting it? Flatbeds are expensive. I'm guessing battery cable/terminal.

not the battery, or terminal. tried coast starting, but it wouldnt turn over. dont worry about the tow truck, i have AAA plus-free towing for 100 miles. its really random how it just didnt turn over when it was working fine before though

Could also be the relay that sits right next to the ecu. But when that goes bad it will usually throw a code. So did you check for codes with a vagcom?

When u say wouldnt turn over, do you mean it wouldnt start or the engine wouldnt turn at all??

sucks - no warning signs. Should have coast started(don't understand why it didn't work out for you). Had to do mine for a couple days because of battery probs. Backed into parking spots facing down hill. Worked perfect.
