I was replacing my front O2 sensor to try and eliminate the check engine light I have had for past couple months. i noticed that this hose has a nice size tear in it. It is located right below the coolant fill tank. Hopefully I didn't waste $130 on a damn sensor when in fact it's a $10 hose tripping the cel. Also, how important is this hose and how soon does it need to be replaced?

L hose.

If anything you'd be losing boost, not throwing a CEL

Superglue it shut and go buy a new hose as soon as you can.

The code i had was P0171 which I think is either an O2 sensor or running too lean. Anyways, where can I get the L shaped hose? Is there a part #? I checked ECS and the only L shaped hose did not look the same.

you can just make a makeshift one if you wanted out of vacuum hose and plastic couplers from the local parts store which would probably be the cheaper alternative.

It was a superseeded part no part number in ETKA... I got one from VW dealer.

part # for the hose is 06B133783BC also that hose attaches to the suction jet pump and if the L shaped hose is cracked 90% of the time the pump is plugged take that off as well and if you can not blow through it replace it part # for that is 058133753B

While you're at it, you may want to replace your braided vacuum lines with some silicone ones...you may have a leak in one of them as well.

thanks for all the help. I am hoping that the hose is still causing the cel because even after the new front o2 sensor the cel came back.
