Hey guys, well its been a couple of days that i have been chipped and have a testpipe. I got APR 91 with stock program. Well anyways the second day into my chip i got my bypass valve replaced, i guess i torr it and i got a new one. But before this i had noticed some sort of fuel cut off my car was giving in 3rd gear or 4th gear after 5k RPM. It almost felt as if i was letting go of the pedal then gasing it again. I really would like to know what this issue is from because it slows me down a lot after 80mph and sometimes it happens and sometimes it doesnt. Most the time it occurs but its after 5k RPM in 3rd or 4th gear. I really havent gone into 5th because i dont see there being a point in going that fast with others around. I would just like an explanation to what this is caused from. It feels as if im to let off throttle then mash on it again, or im getting fuel cutoff. I dont know if its my turbo spiking to high or what. Anyways if anyone has experienced this or knows whats going on, answers and thoughts would be appreciated.

Hey I think I experienced a similar problem except my car is TIP, does it feel like the car is just kinda slowing down or stalling but then it doesnt? What I did was went to the dealer and go my fuel line replaced as well as a couple other component. Make sure you get that TP and APR off there before you go in just to make sure it isnt something big.
Good Luck!

yea I think that was the problem because I got the line changed and I havent had any problems since. Like me it just felt like TOTAL cut off for like 2 seconds then I could go again......the first thing I thought of was the fuel line so I told the dealer my thoughts and they changed it so now its perfect hadnt had any problems so far.

search "fuel cut" or something similar. Been discussed. Contact Keith at APR who can make adjustments. There is no danger but the fuel system is right at the edge with a chipped 2.0t. They really need an upgraded fuel pump that will be available from APR shortly. No, we're not talking about an F-pump or H-pump which flows identically. For now, they can make adjustments so you dont feel the cut. It's not dangerous but it is the car's safety mechanism to prevent a lean condition.

cheers! mike

The fuel pump should be replaced by the dealer for free, the new fuel pump # can be found directly on the pump, if you have any other fuel pump it is the old one--- here the is the # 06F127025F

Again, that fuel pump flows the same amount and the "f-pump" is not the latest one. There is now an "H-pump" which will have the letter H as the last in it's P/N. None of these will provide the fuel needed for big turbos or high boost chips. There are aftermarket pumps being developed by APR and by VF engineering and they are in long term testing now on the APR stage 3 kits.

Well i spoke with APR and told them after 5k rpm its as if my car is serging threw redline. They said one of the problems they had with the 1.8T was the N75 Valve and told me to get that checked out. So im hoping thats the problem.

Types Cnversion,

Check out my post here:

At least yours hasn't thrown a code yet. Based off the code mine was throwing my car was running lean. It has been about 2-months and about 6 emails and I still haven't heard back from APR. Great CS for a $700 product. [rolleyes]

Anyways, I took my car for its first oil change and they updated the software so I lost my chip. I need to make it down to ecode in the next week or so because my car is soooo slllloooowwww. I'm hoping the software update combined with the latest APR software will cure my issue.

If not, it's back to trying to get a response from APR <argh, so frustrating>! I guess I will pick-up the phone and give them a call - apparently their email server isn't working.[down]

Thanks for the help. Well yesterday when i called Eurocode i told them about my problem and when they called APR they called me back saying it can be from my N75 valve. I recently wripped my bypass valve and got that replaced and i thought that was the problem at first. But i guess not. The thing is at times this happens and at times it wont happen. Its as if when im going around 80+ in 3rd gear mashing it i let go of the throttle then get on it again. it Surges threw. Anyways im thinking of switching back to stock mode and taking it to the dealer to tell them about it.

I have the exact problem. It starts to putt-putt after 5k-ish to redline in 3rd gear. Any other alternatives of solution instead of waiting for APR's new fuel pump??

Yes, just contact Keith specifically at APR and tell them of the issue. Be sure to borrow a vag-com and provide evidence of the code that will state (n276, fuel pressure below spec) and he will provide support. The stock fuel system is at its limit and most tuning companies want everyone to get as much power as possible without getting fuel cuts so 1 in 100 cars may get fuel cut. Keep in mind, the cars WILL NOT run lean or dangerous. The fuel cut is a safety mechanism that is left in place so power will be cut to prevent any such lean conditions.

cheers! Mike
