...And what is supposed to be in the place of this damn screw. The back side has 2 vacuum lines into it. To give you perspective, it is under the intake manifold...above the alternator.

And one random melted yellow plastic elbow...behind the engine and intake manifold. What is this piece? and should I worry that it looks like a melted candle?

No, it's on the other side of the engine bay...behind the Intake Manifold...the braided hose the runs out of it to the right goes under the coolant resevoir.

I been meaning to find out what's up with my vac lines too. I got some random blue vacuum line that has a knot in it. but the car works so I've been aprehinsive to mess with it.

Here are some more pics, anyone know what valve this is or where the vac line that has been replaced with a screw is supposed to go:

Hiding under the manifold in this pic, but the arrow shows the vac line going into the valve w/screw plugging it:

that blue line most likely goes to the diverter valve?

No, the blue line closest to the radiator goes to the DV. The line circled runs from the manifold to the valve in question with the screw in it. If I knew what that valve did, I could work backwards and try to figure out where the plugged line should go...?

ok originaly that hose on the manifold runs to the first on the back side combi valve which in turn feeds a couple of other vaccums as well as well as your DV which hooks up to the nipple on the front side of the combi valve. im just wondering how your gettin vacuum to your DV hmmmm. .

go here and look (http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php?t=128881&highlight=vacuum)

that what that hose on the mani should hook up to on the right there that nipple has a wire going to it as well and a nipple right next to cable . right there . then the nipple you can see runs to DV

Maybe i'm being an idiot here, but anyone have a picture of the Combi valve referred to by B5-B_Broke above. I'm obviously picturing the wrong thing in my mind.

Also, I have no idea what you're referring to when you say "that nipple"...can you point that out on the picture below:
