In The Netherlands (EU) the weights are approx:
3.2 FSI 1,495 kg
3.2 FSI Quattro 1,535 kg
2.7 TDI 1,575 kg
3.0 TDI Quattro 1,610 kg.

the 3.2 FSI Quattro weighs 1535 kg/3300 lbs? That's actually really good considering the weight of other Audis. I wonder if the S5 will also weigh in relatively light. Hopefully this is the start of a new trend [;)]

I posted it in another thread before. The AUDI boss, Herr Stadler has made a remark that AUDI will focus (from now), also on weight reduction. [;)]

I hope it doesn't compromise the 'solid' feel that I have noticed in all audi's. Plastic is very light, but I wouldn't want an entire car made out of it....

Weight reduction has already begun with using MORE aluminum in the new TT's.
More aluminum will be used in the future for all models.

I read somewhere just under 3600 lbs, which isn't too bad. I'll take aluminum over plastic any day of the week.

Just read in the A5 brochure that the front fenders? are made of aluminum to reduce weight on the front.
According to this same brochure the weight balance is around 50/50! [up]
