i think you could get a center dash section from a 99 and it will work, they are double din. thats what i plan on doing

A 99.5 or 2000 dash will fit...but you will need the upper dash, lower dash, armrest, radio, radio cage, HVAC controls, and you will lose alot of functionality as well. You will lose the lighting in all the dash controls and HVAC unit. Also, you will not be able to use the new Hazard switch or the new rear defrost switch. Those will either have to be re-wired (havent figured that out yet) or the old switched re-used.

i got a 2000 and wanted to do my radio install they make a cover that looks like it will fit but doesnt save yourself the twenty bucks and do the custom plate. on a 98 however im pretty sure they make a plate that fits you can get it on ebay its the same shit as anywhere else.

Im just going w/ the 99.5+ HVAC because i already have an aftermarket headunit , but it looks like shit, and theres too much BS to get Newer radio block But w/ the headunit and hvac, it should look sufficiently updated

Just did this last night. Put the entire dash setup from a 2000 onto the 99.0. You will need the entire dash face (where the HVAC, Radio, and Ashtray slides into). You will also need the double-din frame off the 2000 as well. This frame has two metal tabs, that will bolt onto each side. You will need to remove your glove compartment and panel underneath the steering wheel to access the screw holes to mount this frame. The frame is what holds the double-din unit in place. For wiring, it is a direct plug & play. I was able to press "CDC" and have full access to the 6-disc changer in the trunk.

Be prepared to do some major wiring... including relocating the lighter, trim lights, etc.

I have a 99.5 with the 2000 center console and it was a breeze. The hazzard, climate control, and everything else was just plug and play. I did this to install the Pioneed Avic D2 Nav a year ago with a custom CNCd faceplate. Again, this only applies to the 99.5 MY as the 99 was way different.

So im going to need to pull out the entire center consol and replace it with the 2000+? And i need to get tthe hvac along with it? Along with the hazard lights and everything

The 99.5 and 2000 HVAC's are almost identical (harness, etc). The 99.5's just sit higher up, thus making the face plate wider. But yea, you'll basically need EVERYTHING. Fortunately, I have a 2000 that I wrecked...so I'm transferring everything over.

If anybody needs parts off, I'll be making one large thread very soon. [:)]

I want your interior belt line trim :] let me know on a price. Also, have any pics of the 99 dash and 2000 to show the difference?
