View Full Version : How to take out instrument cluster

I ended up selling my car locally a few weeks ago. When the new owner went to get a safety inspection they did not pass the car due to the air bag and abs lights not lighting up when the key is turned on. I agreed to help out the new owner as he goes to my school and like the guy (no homo).

So how do I go about getting the instrument cluster out? Do I have to take a bunch of the dash off? Is there an article anywhere online? Thanks guys.

there is a cover between the cluster and steering column. Remove that and you will find 2 small torx head screws. Once you get those out you can pull the cluster out towards you, then you just need to unplug the 3 plugs on the back by flipping up the tab.

$700 for a new cluster, but if its just burned out bulbs then its probably only a few dollars

Blauparts is good with bulbs. Put some masking tape over the top of the steering wheel column to protect it. Otherwise the bottom of the cluster will scratch it up.
