hey guys anyways today i went to Ecode and got chipped and a testpipe and i noticed that i was back firing at times and my friend said he saw me shoot out a flame. anyways i was wondering if this is normal.

ure runnin rich and u have a test pipe. so yeah it's sorta normal for tha mods u have

Actually it should not be that bad, I run a full turbo back exhaust on Revo stage II with some other mods and very rarely I shoot a tiny flame when I shift.

Yea thats normal I guess, but what your describing sounds like its happening a lot so I dont know......but I have TIP so there is probably a difference, I wouldnt worry to much about it.

apr runs a little rich. i have 91 apr and testpipe and backfire all the time...but i didn't know flames were coming out. cool =)
lol I had the same problem, it would be cool if someone had that caught on video. I just want to see how it looks on our car.

ya i shoot out a flame from one exhuast but it doesnt happen that much. Itprobably happen twice. Anyways do you apr guys have fuel issues too around 2or3rd gear in high rpms? it seems like some sort of cut off at times like after 5k the rpm will slow down at some spots then gain up. i called Eurcode and they told me its from the fuel pump on the b7 and a upgrade will be comming out soon which will allow you to boost more with no fuel cut off.
ya its awesome. I took it to the tracks the first day and raced my friend buddy with a b18c1 swap in a 92 eg/350z 6speed with exhuast and a s2k. results were good with the swap by 125 i started to catch up to him and with the 350z i had one car up till 130 then he passed me and the s2k was a joke.

I was told by my tuner (that got it from APR) that those slight cut offs were surging b/c I had the wrong A4 file, I have the latest 07 which was 002 file, and I got 001 flashed on mine. I asked specifically if it was the fuel pump cut off and they said no, that was a diff action, its not as subtle and its usually in 5th and 6th gears. Mine is happening in 3rd and 4th. I haven't gotten reflashed yet b/c of the TSB but we'll see if the new file takes it away

When i merge into freeway and floor it from 2nd to 3rd it will sometimes backfire during the shift. True running APR will create a rich fuel condition. peace

HID what were you doing there? Sounds like you were reving high but not moving very fast.
I'm scared now, I'm getting APR'd and my testpipe put in right away and I'm worried it will sound like crap now. Please tell me that won't be the case... [eek] [confused] [:(]

I told you they where small.
I spotted them because on the uncompressed HD video I can heard a pop and wondered what was it, and as I went over it a couple of time i spotted the farts.
However the ones made by the esp are much bigger.

Its called wet pavement, FWD, and low thread
most of the sound is tire squeal.
Fortunately my new tires have tons of grip, and my new suspension setup has a harder rear so it helps with the launch.
Now I can get out of the line much faster than before.

well i raced one of my buds on a closed road near his home... private area around a ranch. it was a g35 2 door. we went at 50 roll second gear and by 130 i had about 3 and a half cars on him slowly pulling away.. i want to race an s2000 to get another picture of how ill go with one. has any1 had any kills with a s2k with just testpipe and apr 91 flash?

Not quite a kill but in last years DubWars @ Fontana Speedway there was an s2000(driver said "just intake/co's/race tires")that ran in our class. I ran on 91 program(no race gas available) and would stay even on straightaway. He was a bit quicker out of the corners,shit they weigh in at about 2800 lbs right? And click off something like 13.8-14.0 1/4 time stock. He was impressed my lone porky B7 could hang with him.

hey man...GREAT to hear you got your car back finally and got this stuff installed!
and about the backfiring. this has never happend to me....you heard my car when i took you for a drive in it. we have the same mods.
did you get the TSB reflash already? if not you probably should have done that first...

What would the TSB relfash be? I already went in for my first oil change and they told me that they had reflashed it.

Yes the dealer should reflash it and you will be back to stock, then you need to get reflashed by whoever your chipped by. I was confused by this for a while to but I finally got everything figured out after the TSB reflash cleared my Giac flash, and im chipped again [:D]

It will sound like crap. Testpipe increases exhaust flow, but the stock exhaust is not designed for that flow rate. So the Testpipe will overflow the exhaust. It doesn't sound too good.
I have APR and testpipe, it sound like crap. So I am getting a milltek exhaust next week at ecodetuning.

I guess its a matter of opinion. I have the test pipe alone too and I like that its not too loud and ricey.
