I think my exhaust swallowed my wastgate flap. I'm not boosting a damn thing. I think I'm gonna just replace my turbo or rebuild it. My question is will a face lift turbo fit my prefacelift. And will a b6 turbo be a direct fit?

Why not just go K04?
I believe you can, I constantly hear about people running the k03S.

hey if you gotta CEL that reads runnin lean on all cylinders you might just need to get a DV valve get a forged one careful with the ebay shit cause i bought one and it leaked out of the box but i had the stock it was leakin bad and i had no boost whatsoever you could here a littlebit but was shot heres the test for the DV valve you can do it either on the car or off

removed:

put finger on vac nipple to seal it, and release piston.

If the piston returned to it's original position, it's bad.

If the piston hold it's position while your finger is on the vac nipple, it's good

installed:

apply vacuum with a vacuum gun and see if it holds pressure

or be old school and suck on the hose going to the dv. if you can suck on the hose without getting the thing stuck on your tongue the valve is bad

I'm pretty positive its not the DV. I mean, my exhaust note even changed. And i've got the damn exhaust leak action goin on again.

With the change in exhaust note, I would suspect the catalytic converter. I just went through this. My car was fine one day, and then the next the exhaust sounded really choked off and the car didn't boost worth a damn. I removed the vacuum line on the wastegate and couldn't get it to produce any more boost than it was already. I ended up installing an ATP 3" TP and that solved my problems. The catalyst had broken off inside the catalytic converter housing and rotated so that the honeycomb was facing the wrong direction - to the sides. It was just rattling around in there like a brick....
