if i had a 2001 id just get apr s3+ so i wouldn't have to deal with any issues that exist with all the other options.

Revo has a Elim tune for the RS/71r. If you want you can contact 034efi or Eurocode Tuning, both of them could sell you the kit and tuning together. You can also get the chip tuning from them or buy one of the elim kits from Boost Factory. Either way just tell them mike told you to call.[:D]

What do I need to add the gtrs to a stock 01, other than turbo and software, do I have to replace the exhaust injectors and what else???

it does not matter what or how big of a turbo you run, the engine may out on stock internals at about 400hp. but if you at that range most of the time you have the cash to cough up for internals

To answer your question yes you can run it with out upgraded injectors and an exhaust. I deffinatly suggest learning, and reading threads before you post this.

I thought that was a t3/t4 turbo, regarldess its looks like a neat setup. What kind of tuning? How do you like the setup overall? How much boost. Additionally, are you Quattro or FWD?

I thougt all GT35r compressor housings were smooth.

Oh, just noticed that so I guess thats what threw me off. So it is basicly just a T3/T4 with a 35 compressor wheel? Cant really be a GT35 since GT = BB so maybe you just meant not a Dual BB. Have you thought about going Revo since they have it for the 2001 or maybe stand alone?

actually mike GT doesn't mean ball bearing...GT covers basically all of garrets latest turbos including journal bearing ones..check out their site.

Here's a Journal bearing GT35

i looked into revo but they only have a stage 3 for the gt2871rs. i know u can get the commander and tweak the shit out of it. ive really considered it bc there is a local dealer that does it but im not liking the price for the whole setup. i also dont like the idea of standalone bc there isnt any local awd dynos so it would cost me a shit ton to have it installed and tuned at a shop. ive kinda been focusing on weight reduction and suspension now. if u have any insight on a place that can hook it up on revo let me know

Well you could go revo and the 034efi SIC "fuel" only unit, this is what Javad has running on his 2001. This way you could tune the fuel but still have a base fuel map to start with while the revo chip runs everything else. This will also allow you to stay DBW.

pac1085 - Thanks, didn't know that. I thought I read back when they first came out that the GT was BB and R was DBB.

Oh. Thats cool. I have seen one on a B6 1.8t with a GT30 (IIRC .42 a/r) that Tim at SGT put together. I have also seen a few sites that sell all the pieces (thick wall) to make one on your own.
