i got my headlights for thelowesta4 a while ago...however my local body shop didnt know what to do with the 2 extra wires(pink and grey). Also i need vag com to reset my car so it knows it has xenon. As of right now, i cant use high beams, and i cant use my fog lights alone. While i was getting my car chipped today, i asked Darren at Streetwerkes to see can he fix it. However he said he cant fix it either, do u guys know where i can fix that? I asked the dealer the another day when i was doing my 15,000k service, they told me it costs around 400 bucks to do it...that's a lot of money~so plz help....

okay bud,

when we did the conversion on my car about 2 years ago, (halogen to US Spec projectors) i wasnt able to use my high beams or able to vag my lights to let it know that it has xenons. Did you use a conversion plug or did you cut the wires and reput them into the bi-xenon harness? PM me...

the extra wires from the harness (i assume you are using the kufatec one) must be run through the ecu dry box to a plug under the dash to control the high beams (the motors that let out more light)

here are some instructions i wrote up for another member. if you didn't get the info on the exact pins and color combos let me know and i will look it up again

whats up Nick, not a problem

there really isn't a computer, its actually what i would describe as a wiring block underneath the steering wheel/dash up and to the left closer to the firewall.

what you will need to do is remove the cover which seals the dash under the steering wheel. i think there are 3 or 4 screws/bolts, it's no big deal.

once you remove this piece (there are some lighting wires attached to it, i think i just left mine hanging), you will see a wiring block on the left leg side with various plugs and harnesses going into it. it's set back a bit closer to the firewall. you can't really miss it, lots of plugs and wires going into it.

you will then need to remove the gray (and i think black) harness plugs to add the wires. i counted the number of pin holes in each harness plug along with the coloring to determine the correct ones, i don't remember it being difficult to figure out at all.

you will actually see missing wires in the plugs for the correct pins you will need to add, the plugs themselves have number labels on them so you can figure out the correct holes. i can't remember which direction the numbering runs in, but using the pin numbers already on the harness (you will see it in the plastic) you can use logic to figure out which numbers correspond to which holes by counting and looking for the empties.

you will then need to remove the securing plastic pieces from the harnesses to be able to add wires (i know i am wording this poorly but you will figure it out, if not just ask). basically you can remove a cover/locking peice from each harness plug (i think its a different color) to drop in new pins, and then reinsert it to secure them in place. the kufatec harness already has the correct square pins (which is actually in this case the receptacle end). you will be able to figure out the orientation to get them in, and lock them in place. after this, simply plug them back in to the block. i remember the DRL harness was a pain to get apart and i ended up leaving the wires disconnected anyways because i didn't want them on anyways. i could have coded out for it only (and did) but left them disconnected as well because these harness are easy to get to if you want to change things, and it will not throw a CEL if you just code for no DRL's. i believe the important ones (high beams) are on the gray plug which is easy to unlock.

as for actually getting the kufatec wires to this place under the dash, it is very easy. remove the cover from the ECU dry box with a socket set (drivers side near the firewall) and you will be able to clearly see wires running down under the dash coming from the ECU (you can actually shine a flashlight from underneath the dash to see the hole) it is very large and i don't anticipate a problem. once you have fed the wires through and tucked them away, reseal the dry box to keep everything safe. it's the easiest passthru i have ever seen from engine bay to cabin.

i'm sorry i don't have any pictures of the process (should have taken some) but i can promise you the hardest part of doing this (besides taking off the bumper) will be reading these instructions. it's actually pretty easy and intuitive.

if you need any more info or a part of this doesn't make sense, just email me back and i'll give you more info. i have the bentley too, so if your confused about something i can help you out with more specifics.

good luck!
