Personally, I would never get anything bigger than 18s on a B5.

Agreed. It looks good on the B6 imo, but not the B5.

Not true, I had 19's on my b5 and they looked fine. No rolling or rub. BTW they are for sale if your interested

<---- was gonna go with 19's, but the wheels I want only come in 18's. To look at the bright side of 18's - the tires are a hell of alot cheaper.

19's are fine with your choice. will look big because their isn't a lip. check my sig, those are 19's. going down to 18's though when i give these to my lady. mine's been dropped lower than that pic and i had to roll my fenders. still smooth though

I run 19x8 et35 on my '00 w/ no issues whatsoever. I'm on H&R S4 coilovers set w/ the slightest nose-down rake. Car looks the biz & rides as good as one would expect w/ 235/35s & tuned suspension - firm, but not @ all jarring.

The front fender lips have been gently folded up - by hand - & I let the tires 'trim' the fender liners as necessary. Hitting a nasty dip or bump mid-corner @ slow speeds is the only way any major fender/tire contact could happen... but that could happen w/ 17s or 18s if running a 235 w/ an offset aggressive enough.

FWIW, I live in southeastern PA - northern Philly burbs - & I haven't bent a wheel enough that a rebalance couldn't take care of. No winters, of course.

Check the sig I run 19's. I had the front fenders rolled and smooth sailing now. I didn't have all that much rubbing before only when I would hit a big dip at highway speeds.

And then I found some 19" M-Classics with brand new Ventus tires for $800 that I picked up this weekend. I am gonna drop the car before putting them on (hopefully sometime this week). I love these wheels.
