I'm more than anything curious I own 99 b5 a4 fwd I was wondering say if I purchased 98 b5 a4 quattro that had high miles would it be possible to swap my fwd's engine in the quattro? would it be worth the time and money to upgrade this way?

so the engine in fwd and the quattro are basically the same

of course the engine is the same

the difference is in the transmission/drivetrain

Then it shouldn't be too expensive to do this, I would assume it's more expensive to swap the transmission and drivetrain that's definately more work.

Why would you want to swap the transmission and drivetrain? IIRC you cant convert a fwd to quattro or the other way around because the rear suspension mounting locations are different.
