I figured I would use my eBay spoiler for a test run to see if the paint matched up right before doing my lowers. I read over the best DIY lowers painting thread I could find, which was on vwvortex / fourtitude. Everything I read says to use Dupli-color "Radiant Silver" for the best match. I went to Autozone and they had a huge selection. Only Radiant Silver they had was "Radiant Silver Metallic", I assumed it was what folks were referring to so I bought it. I think it turned out half decent. In person it doesn't have the glossy finish that the car has but the coloring is damn close. I started with adhesion promotor, then 3 base coats, then 2 clear coats. I had to have Autozone order some more for me which will be in next week. Can anyone tell me the best way to get it glossy like the car? More clear coats? or wax it later on?
I'm not a painter, or a photographer for that matter but here are some pics. First is the spoiler just layed across the trunk, second pic is extreme closeup. I think the closeup is pretty conclusive that this color is damn close to the factory color.

What do you guys think?

yea I did the same, about 2-3 coats of clear, but mine isn't shiney like the rest of the car.

My dad is going to look at it soon and let me know what to do about it, he;s the expert.

It has like a matte luster to it but it isnt glossy. Maybe I need to put on a heavy coat of clear? It is rough to the touch, not smooth.

This is the one I got. Came to approx $42 after paying shipping and buying the paint. Shipping was fast and came with the double sided 3M tape. [up]
