Hi all,
My ride is as listed above..2007 A4 3.2 Quattro. I want to lower it and change its wheel. I have a question:

Should I lower it first or change its wheel 1st?

Thanks!

I would lower first. I think that nice wheels look lame if the wheel gap is too big.

I chose not to lower since I have a 24 mo. lease.

I put on VM RS4 Reps with 245's (as opposed to the stock 235's) which lessened the wheel gap enough for me.

I'm not sure it necessarily matters. I did wheels & tires first, which cemented my desire to drop it.

Actually, now that I think about it - that's probably the right path. Select the wheels you really want, mate them with tires, and then drop it. That way you can fine-tune the ride height if needed.

Good luck. I absolutely love my '06 - I don't think I've ever enjoyed a car as much as this one - I hope you get the same out of your '07.

Im curious how the 245's lessened the gap in the wheel well. I only ask because technically, your rolling diameter should still be the same, right? if you get more wheel, you should have less tire.
Then again, since you got 245's and probably a slightly better offset, the wheels should have been pushed closer to the fender and maybe thats what lessens the gap, but that would be more visual than actual, i reckon.

I dropped first and then put wheels on a week later, but historically I've always lowered first.

Going against my nature, I decided to go the inexpensive route with this car.

No drop, 18" reps and General UHP's, which are 1/2 the price of Conti's or Michelins.

The 245/40-18 UHP's are quite a bit taller and wider than the stock Goodyears. Also the wheels have a different offset and are 1/2" wider. Because they're taller and wider, it fills the fender gap a bit. The difference is subtle, but noticable. Enough to make me ok with leaving the car this way.

By the way, stay away from UHP's. You get what you pay for. I've road-forced these things 3 times and still have a vibe at 65-80.

thanks for the reply. im very curious about it will look on my car with 19's. feel kinda better that the offset helps somewhat as well. do you have any pics of the wheels on the car (that are bigger than the avatar [:)] )

also, how did u get good years in CA? we got these softwall break-away P-Rellys here. [headbang]
