This occured two weeks ago after some serious sleet, ~35mph or so.

Question for you guys--should I total the car or not--it's about 15-18k worth of damage, apparently.
Also--I should be able to have the body shop guy order the S-line bumper and black optic grille, as the prices to standard A4 bumper/grille would be similar (dealer pricing)....right? I remember some other B7'er posting about a similar situation but can't recall the outcome.

Only had a broken nose and a concussion, so I came out fine but it didn't.
Thanks guys.

Ouch - sorry to hear/see that. Glad you ended up fine.

Most people would recommend to total it.
If you decide to fix it - go ahead and make all the upgrades.
Depending on the car shop you will end up paying for the difference in parts.

[:o] Anybody want a left xenon housing w/ ballasts or 3 Streetsport coils? I suppose I'll part it out once that decision has been made.

Ouch, but i'm glad no major damage happened to you.
I just realized these Audis seem to hit hard into something and doesn't look like it hit hard.

i think you dont get to decide if its totalled or not..
the insurance company is going to decide whatever is the best interest for them.. but i think its like 75% of the car value.. so if your car value is 10k and the damage is 7.5k.. then they will total it.. im not sure if its 75%, but its some %

Ouch, definitely try to write it off... it is very much up in the air as to whether they will be willing to do that though...

Cars are never the same after you repair them. Glad to hear you are ok though.

Correct on the 75%...my car is looking to be 71% totalled, so I'm thinking I'll go that route. Still waiting on the exact numbers from the insurance co.[rolleyes]
Roof bend from hitting that front right area:

x2 on that.

But having been in an accident a bit worse... was a boulder and not a pole (see the link in my sig) I would hope they total it. By the time all is said and done my car will probably spend about 3 months in the shop (2 months of them working on it)... but every time I go and see it I just want to cry.

Initial insurance estimate was $7,500 then the supplement was an additional $12k. Since they are repairing it I am going the upgrade route, DTM bumper, blackout grill, xenons etc.

People say it won't drive the same, but if you have it at a reputable shop it isn't anything to worry about. The shop mine is at is actually getting a new car bench which I guess is 100% accurate or some crap at alignment to factory specs, so I'm really not worried. Just sucks being without my car and having to see it like this.

Here is what it looked like after coming back from the dealer with front suspension, engine, tranny and diff removed...
