Sorry if this has been posted before, but I searched and didn't really see what I was looking for.

I bought my car about 3,000 miles ago and now that its a little warmer I'm gonna do some work on her next week, after I get my paycheck. I've been beating on it a little ([drive]) so I want to take care of it.

I'm planning on doing oil (0w40), plugs (what kind? Preferably something I can get at like Autozone) and what else?

Thanks [az]

Search "Maintenance", check the first three pages. Nothing.

EDIT: I did it on the B5 forum specific search, not sitewide.

I did, which is how I found out I needed 0w40. This is my first car, so its not like I can say "oh I need to change this this and this, now what brand do I need." I want to know what I should be doing. Especially since its an Audi.

It has 108k miles, with regular maintenance done thus far by the previous owners. I'll be doing timing belt in a month or two.

change oil (mobil 1 0w40)
check air filter
replace cabin filter (regular or activated charcoal)
spark plugs (ngk bkr6e gapped .028-.032)
check your vac lines (replace if needed with upgraded lines and clamps)
change tranny fluid (mobil 1 75w90 gear oil 3 qts)
change rear diff fluid (mobil 1 75w90 gear oil 2 qts)

these are just some things that came to mind. I'm sure others can offer a more complete list

Using the search feature is not difficult... The 3rd thread answers his question (created by giacg..

be specific and the search feature will give you what you need...

I don't need to know the type of oil. I already knew that.

What I needed to know was what else to do, a question that salz answered. Once I know what I need, I can usually find it. Thanks bOOOOsted and salz.

sorry forgot to add previously:

coolant flush (OEM G12 coolant and distilled water)
Bentley Service Manual or Haynes/Chilton (a must for any DIYer)

PM bOOOOstedaudi if you need and OEM stuff (excluding body stuff) he often has a lot of stuff lying around [:D]

so he is asking what else he should do besides oil and plugs?
ok fuel filter, coilpacks(w/plugs). if stock intake , change or clean filter, recommend to change But the timeing belt should be done imediatly like withing 3 days.. so u can get it over with and not risk buying another audi, coolant as it wasnt mentioned before, check brake fluids.
and dont be fooled by ppl saying fill up ur "blinker flud",. its a joke
