hi guys i just finished installing a s4 bumper on my 98 a4 looks great now with the s4 bumper shocks. first time i installed bumper i used my a4 shocks and they worked but there was a gap about 1/2 in from headlight wasnt that bad but with the new shocks it looks so much better i will have pics up soon. if i have a fmic u better be ready to cut out the back of the rebar to clear the fmic.

uhhh, the bumper shocks are adjustable, you can raise and lower the bumper with the shocks..

The problem for him was that the bumper stuck out(forward) a 1/2", not that it was too low. Maybe you just read what he posted the wrong way.

You haven't been the only one, just seems weird that not everyone has to use the S4 bumper shocks to make it work.

That shouldn't matter since the bumper has to line up, if it is the fmic that is getting in the way the bumper has to be trimmed.

whats funny is taht i measured the a4 bumper shocks and compared them to s4 bumper shocks. The a4 bumper shocks are shorter than the s4 ones. so i dont know why the s4 ones worked for you. i am still having the issue of my bumper not fitting right though. when i went to buy used s4 ones i decided not too since the measurments said they are longer. i figured i needed shorter ones.
