Here is my deal:

I do an azz load of city driving and when i get on and off the gas, it seems like my drive train slop is excessive. So i replaced the snub mount and it still seems excessive. What else can i do to firm this car up.

99.5 A4 1.8T manaul

Thanks for the input.

Replace transmission mounts
Replace motor mounts

Most likely the motor mounts need replacing.

Is this common for the mounts to go bad, or is it actually in the gearing, i do have 105000 on the car?

Yes they do tend to go bad because of the abuse they take and the heat around them.

Next question, do i stick with the stock mounts or is there a better poly-mount set up i should be going for?

s4/2.8 motor mounts would work

rs4 mounts if you're making some power (the more expensive option)

V6 mounts are your best bet, few bucks more than the 1.8T mounts, but the V6 is a bit beefier because the V6 motor is obviously heavier, therefore they are built tougher.

It's probably a good upgrade even if you're running stock power, when mine go I'll replace them w/ the V6 mounts.
