I have a 2002 TT quattro. I'll be putting on new Bilsteins all around but leaving the stock springs. I've asked several so-called suspension experts with different answers as to whether I will need a wheel alignment after installing the Bilsteins. The consensus seem to be that I will not. Any expert advice from forum members would be appreciated. Thanks!

everyone said i wouldnt need an alignment after putting on coilovers but after 3 k miles my front inside were worn down BAD!! i rotated them to the back right away and got an alignment... the whole car was in red! it was all off! so i would get one done for about 60-80 bucks it will save ur tires which cost a whole lot more especially if they r new tires.. if they r due for replacement just run it then get an alignment when u get new tires

Don't get it done immediately, the fittings need a little bit of time & jiggling to settle properly. HOWEVER, you definitely need to get it done shortly afterwards - I wouldn't leave it more than a week, and would be happy to pickup the car, go for a drive on my favourite mountain pass & straight to an alignment shop.

Also, think about what you want to do with the car. I haven't seen stock alignment numbers for the TT, but I would expect best handling at 0 toe all around, -1 to -1.5 deg front camber & -1 deg rear camber. IIRC, the rear camber is "non-adjustable", so will depend upon the height at the rear.

Good luck!
