My radio AM/FM reception is pretty weak with the Audi (built in?) antenna. I have an aftermarket headunit in right now, but i recall my reception was about the same with the stock deck. Is there any external antennas recommended? Or some sort of hack for the built in one for better antenna reception? Thanks.

I don't know if its the same for the A4 but in the S4 there are two antenna's in the rear corners of the car, I think its in the rear pillars of the car close to the speakers. Let me tell you that they're pretty shitty antenna's.

There are four antenna amplifiers and an antenna selection control module in the newer b5s. ANy particular range of frequencies better than others? might wanna check to make sure the ground is good... I'm not sure if the diversity system will still funtion with an aftermarket deck? But when they work, they work pretty well.

I ran a search on AW and theres an antenna AMP unit thing located in the rear left pillar on our B5s. Supposedly if thats bad or lost its ground, could be the cause for our bad reception. I'm going to check mine out some other day when its not raining around here, since i can only work on my car outside on the driveway.
