So who here has the hardcore rubber winter mats? I do for one. Do you guys leave them in all year round or switch back to the carpet once winter is over?

I Do, I keep 'em in all year round.

Mine need cleaning now that I think of it.

Last year I switched for July and August only.

Normally I will switch them all out except for the drivers mat.

I just got mine at Christmas so I've never had to make the decision. I tried to take out the driver mat and it's snapped on really tight. I'm afraid I am going to break the plastic surround or pull the mount out of the carpet. Anyone else have this problem? You probably shave 10 lbs off the car by swapping to the carpet. When mine came the shipping weight was 14 lbs!

I have the heavyduty Audi ones and leave them in all year long.

They work like beasts with snow, rain, mud/dirt, beer, coffee, apple cores, etc...

I don't know about you guys, but I generally keep the inside of my car pretty clean. I hate my winter mats, they;re just not comfortable under the foot like my carpets.. especially for driving home from the beach barefoot.. [;)]

I have to say the carpet does feel better under the foot, but it wears unlike the rubber ones. And the rubber ones hold the dirt and crap so much better, and its just a spray and everything is clean again.

I switch back to the carpet in the summer since I like to drive barefoot and the rubber ones hurt with your bare feet
