I was about to buy the AME shallen MX, however ame is not making them..since not enough order for the bolt pattern 5 x 112.

I am getting the oettinger kit..and i was thinking about some new wheels too..

I always wanted some dpe wheels so what u guys think? s-5 or the s-20? or should i just get the oetthinger wheels...since they are way cheaper than dpe.

Both cars drive great, the rims are really light, best overall choice is DPE's! Nothing beats the craftmenship on the wheels, and overall balance of the wheels. If you gonna get a set check with my boy he will for sure get you the best price

I talked to the AME guy--he said they would be making the MX in a 5X112 around June/July. Did he tell you something different or are you just wanting to get something now?

Who did you guys talk to at AME? If I see Kent or Dom @ Endless this weekend at HIN I could probably get a better estimate as to when they will be making 5x112 wheels for us.

Care to expand on that a little bit? Seems like a pretty useless post without it.

Don't know who I talked to--called the number from the website. The guy said they didn't have them now, but thought they would sometime this summer. I hope they do, I like the looks of the MX quite a bit.

I live in West Los Angeles right off Santa Monica Blvd, and if anyone knows this area its POTHOLE City, I don't think anywhere has more then Santa Monica Blvd last year since it was under construction for four years, in that four years I drove down that street with a few set of rims, all of them got trashed and bent the DPE's have held up and still ride good. I had BBS wheels also, they are strong, but also very heavy.

So I'll rephrase myself Nothing beats the craftsmanship on the wheels, and overall balance of the wheels in MY OPINION.

The next time I see one of my friends that own DPEs I'll show you how far they degrade, wear, decay from less than 6 months of driving on them and less than 10k miles. And this is with people that are in the show scene so they know how to PROPERLY maintain their wheels too.

Which BBS are you talking about? If you're getting a forged BBS wheel they are forged at 20K psi and much much lighter.

Flame again if you want, but once again I'm here to help the community and help people make choices that they will not regret later on.

Enkei, BBS, Rays Engineering, SSR, Champion, Breyton, AME, Auto Couture, Kinesis, CCW, Fikse, Work, etc.

Those all > DPE and make wheels in our bolt pattern.

Funny how everyone is fast to have friends in some line of business relating to the issue when they have to prove a point. Never the less, my DPE's are 3 1/2 years old, and trust me I drive, been through four sets of tires in the front, three in the back, plus I popped a tire on one of my fronts hitting a pothole and they are still rolling with no REAL WEAR, NO DECAY, and NO VIBRATION. And trust me, I'm last person to have a chance to take care of my car, full time work and full time student, but yet every time I clean and polish them they are as good as new. Not to mention that my girl has put at least 10K on these wheels and she really doesn't look out for potholes like I do. The rims are very light. And the 20s which we just got on the 335, weight is less then the stock 18s,again my girl is mostly driving that car with no issues on the wheels at all.

I dunno man, your the first person I've seen to dis-like DPE's or talk bad about them. All I hear all the time is, "WOW YOU GOT DPE'S" "SUPER WHEELS" "NICE WHEELS" "WOW THAT DISH." Things that make me proud and happy to be a DPE Wheel owner. The guys over at DPE also ROCK, any problem they are always trying to help. I'm confused man, I thought making it with the same after market large wheels in my area showed the wheels where solid/good. Maybe I got lucky and purchased a few good sets.

Only problem I can really say I have had is the rubbing that got fixed with a roll out(Yes we pushed the fenders out a little). Go look on E46fanatics.com, I see more DPE's on BMW's then any other wheel. As for the BBS's I had on my Passat, they where super heavy, that is the only thing I didn't like about it, the BBS's where super strong and loved the quality, never really knew they had forged wheels, never liked BBS style after I saw the DISH on DPE/HRE/iForged wheels.

Once again, this is all MY OPINION, I'll keep your opinion in mind just incase in the future I hear bad about DPE, maybe if a few other people say it and SHOW proof, with pictures and so on, I just might purchase another set of wheels my next time around, but I highly doubt that would happen.
