Right
I don't have pictures of the actual tire that is going on the car, because they are mounting them as I type.
However they are the same as these

235/45ZR17 Bridgestone Potenza RE050A Pole Position
The guy at the BMW dealer had the guts to ask me why was I changing from Craptinetal ContiTouringContact to the Potenza RE050A Pole Position (Supposedly the continentals are better)
I told him
I have had 3 flats on the 550i with the continental thread wear is bad, the sidewalls are too soft, they make too much noise, lose traction easily, they are too narrow, the profile is to big, plus the dealer wants to sell me the continentals for 180$ each, when I got the Potenzas for 141$.

Thanks.
Its actually a bit of a mess right now (Remodeling the House = Too much crap in the garage), plus I have to clean the floor.
Ps. Fuel jugs are for C16 not diesel [;)]

Conti's suck beyond all explanation.....
I've had the Potenza's on my previous 330i and they're a good tire.
A bit loud at high speeds, but they stick pretty well and you will like them 10 times more than the Continentals.
(And I saw the Graco Baby box before I sqw the fuel jug.....lol)

the KDW's run wider than most of the other tires in the same size, I love the handling of the tires though.

Yup those are for my two nieces, when they come over from Venezuela. Those go on the Ridgeline. (Never on the Audi or BMW)

they are indeed deceivingly wide. i have them on my 2 front porsche rims, and in 235/35/19 they looked much wider than the 255/30/19's for the back (toyo) when they were side by side. but they are great tires.

Is not rusting is some residue from the machining and welding process (I was told).
It had lots more before, but I took most of it out with never dull and elbow grease, it comes right off. I did not bother with that bit, because it cant be seen unless you get down to that level.
Ps. I just measured the tires and they are just about 10'' wide. 3/4" more than the Dunlops and 2 lbs lighter per tire

Where should I have the tires mounted ?
At the dealer ?
I just payed 280$ to mount, align and balance a set for the 550i at the dealer.
Champion Audi quoted me 26$ per tire (just mount and balance).

If the Bridgestones are anything like the BFG's then you're going to have some serious grip this summer.

Love the tires but, they all leak from the bead.

Leak ?
I dove a few mile on 550i with the Bridgestone Pole Position ( On the rain ) and its just a different car. Much much better breaking, more G's while cornering, crisper turn in, not too much over steer.
Now when it gets dry, I have to test them from a dead stop.

OMG they have @ss loads of grip, even in the rain

Smashed the brakes at 60mph (on rain) no ABS just grip. ( Testing the tires [;)] )

HID how old are you?
nice choice in tires. I have the gforce sports because at the time I couldn't afford KDW's. They grip really nicely; I can't imagine what those feel like.

Holy sh*t! That's the 1st time ive heard that and its true in my case. Love the tires but since Ive had them the front 2 have had the most odd slow leak. 1 ive had fixed and the other is still there and haven't had time to fool with it. Im glad someone else has noticed this because I was thinking my wheels had problems.

Well I filled them up with nitrogen. I hope they don't leak.

How would you compare the BF KDWs with the 050A Pole Positions? I'm in the market for new tires and those are the 2 choices I've narrowed it down to.
Slo.Mo.Shun.
03-25-2007, 10:05 PM
I don't know.
I really haven't driven that much yet to pick a favorite one (Plus all I have driven is in rain), but you cant go wrong with either one.
However if you buy the 050A make sure you get the pole positions
Ps. I will keep you posted

Well at the moment I help my father run the iT department of his company, and attend college.
My father is rarely at home (Venezuela or other business trips (Working his ass off)) my mother and I take care of most of the things that go on at home.
If you already guest it I am the one in charged of the cars ( If not what a mess it would be), and almost any other thing that does not involve decoration and shopping.
To explain the Nieces. I am almost the youngest of five, three sisters, ( 31, 28, 26 ) my brother, ( 16 ) and I (19).
And actually none of the cars are either to my name or my dads, we decided to register them as property of Iscar Ground service Corp. (The company)
I cant take the credit for everything, My father is the Man [hail] [hail] [hail]
Cant thank him enough for all he has done for me and my family.

probably the same reason why we have an A4, 530i and IS350 lol.

But why a A4 and 550i?
I don't know, I still don't know why I have an Audi, I thought I was going to get either a Saab 9-3 Aero, an S60R, or a Legacy Sec B [confused]. However My dad surprised me with it.
As for the 550i we still have a 528i in Venezuela, and my father loves it to death, but he also has his dream car there his Lotus ( It has been a nightmare to bring it over), so he bought something that is in between both cars. (However the 550i is my mothers daily driver)
