I have been thinking about buying the 18x8, et48 Avus rims from the S8. My understanding is that they will not clear the huge HP2 calipers of the S4 if the pads are new. If I were to get these wheels, I will be using 5mm spacers which will result in an offset of 43. IIRC, this should clear the fender liners and of course, the fenders without any issues, even if the car is lowered to ~25.50" at all four corners.
Is my logic on the right track and if so, what are the pros and cons of spacers? If I am way off base with my logic, please explain why and give an alternative recommendation if possible. TIA.
