ecu completely died today. Yesterday I had really odd backfires right as the motor shut down as i was driving. This happened twice yesterday. The cluster went blank, then the rpms fell to 0 but the engine was still running....then it magically came all back to life. Then tonight i was leaving a local gtg and the car shut down and would not restart. Turn key to on position and no CEL. FUCK. b00st called it. He said the ecu would leave me stranded.

i'll have to unless i can pick up an ecu local and have my electrical engineer tech i work with transfer the socket. I honeslty don't trust him. hahaha

patience is a virtue, if you dont trust him, dont let him do it, just wait it out and send it to tapp, youll be happy you did in the end

For those with the "internal control module malfunction: RAM error" code, start looking for a new ecu.

fixed it.....then it dies again. is there a fuse or something? when I unplug the ecu and battery and hook everything back up its fine....come back and it doesn't start again.

well that sounds like a royal pain in the ass to me, you may want to check to make sure the ecu harness isnt dirty or damaged

Aaron, i don't even think my car will be ready by sunday, sux. The wendy's cup made it quite a ways up along 309, up by 113 then it shot off and hit fab's car.

But on a side note, this happened to my buddies avant, the one in WI and they couldn't reuse the chip and had to replace it with a stocker.

Why not have nick solder it in? He's at mike's soldering every other night
