View Full Version : Noise from turbo area.

Ok, here's my situation.

Last tuesday night I blew my cat completely off the turbo manifold and after a few searched I found it was a common problem (like this http://audizine.com/forum/showthread.php?t=122909). I was able to fit the cat back in the manifold as a temporary fix until I welded it up on Saturday. I obviously didn't have much power until I welded it up. Gas mileage was crap also prob due to the ecu freaking out because the amount of air flowing through the cat - thus then making the car run rich.

Now that the initial problem was fixed (and after a complete ECU reset), the car doesn't boost as much as it used to and I also hear some sort of clicking in the turbo area, almost like the turbo is working really hard but not performing as normal. I have never heard this sound before I blew my cat off the flange.

A few hours ago I checked my DV to see if its holding pressure and it is. Note that it is stock.

Unfortionatly, I haven't bought a boost gauge yet and can't get it Vag'd until sometime next week. I've been searching the forum for hours trying to narrow my problem down. The closest problem I've found is this thread: http://audizine.com/forum/showthread.php?t=120240&highlight=turbo+noise scroll down to the pictures.

Thanks guys.
