Stance Against RX8

My buddy is always braggin about his new RX8 and eventually i will put him to shame once we go down to the track but just seeing what you guys think my chances are against him. Both bone stock i believe he will win but i will be able to keep up since hes automatic but heres a bit of info....

and by the time we hit the track i will be chipppeeeed [drive]

RX8 - 212HP and about 3000 lbs.

A4 - 200 and about 3500lbs? maybe more idk

i raced 2 on the street both had exhaust and 1 had an intake as well i was stock at the time i beat both by about a half a cars lenth around 90 he pulled from 0-20ish then i had them i heard these cars are nasty in turns but never witnessed it first hand i think with some nice coilovers and a sway they wont beat the quattro but dunno yet

just chip your car, race with with stock mode first, then race him again with chipped mode, tell him the first time u missed a gear or something...

my dad has an RX-8. My mods are listed in my sig and its very close (pops is manual - 238 hp). I've beaten him from a dig as well as stayed dead even from a dig. Tough race...and as said above...depends on the driver.

ive raced a RX8 in my 06 2.0t and it wasnt a race

and when i raced the auto one, it was HILARIOUS

actually the auto RX-8 has like 180-190 hp or something pansy-like...you should own him. If you dont wanna chip it get a revo trial flash haha

I've blown the doors off of each of the 3 RX8's that decided they wanted a go against the little two point ohhhhh.
And while I'm bragging about stupid stoplight races.....
I have a Nissan 350Z, a few G35's, and about a week ago I added a Dodge Charger with a HEMI to the kill list.

I'm not sure which created more smoke - his tires or his ears when he lost to an Audi.
There's a lot to be said for Quattro instant grip. [;)]

I was on the Mazda website last night checkin out the RX8.

Auto has 212hp

Manual has 232 hp

With a 2.0T w/ chip you should take him. Even if your a horrible driver you should still win.

Straight from the RX8 guys. Seems like they do the quarter in ~14.5+, so it would be close with a flashed B7, which can go low 14's, maybe 13.999.

An auto RX8 will lose to a stock B7. A chipped B7 will run with a manual RX8.
Little note on the handling of the RX8 - awesome. Its completely nuetral and can be thrown into any corner at unreal speeds. Being RWD i expected oversteer every time i cornered hard, but nothing...car sticks like glue. Nice car, but no torque down low...or at all really. The car is fast, but it only pulls hard from 7-9k rpm. Its funny to see RX8 drivers frantically downshift 2-3 gears to keep up when you dip into the boost and pass them.

i've raced several. I put about 4 car lenghts on them before they even make it through the intersection. Its not even a contest on the highway either.

Very good summary. I have been in a few and thought the same thing. I have killed a few as well, but I have no idea what models they were.

weird i raced an rx8 last night and it was side to side and mind you i have a BONE stock b6 a4. the B7 should dominate it
