I just bought a brand new 2007 A4 2.0T.
As many of you have the same feeling on it, the front license plate panel is ruining the whole design of the bearutiful exterior. (at least to me ^^;)
So, I really want to elimitate the license plate thing by replacing it with the front grill filler panel, you know, the two chrome lines.
I've been searching through the internet but kind'a failed finding the right one. Anybody here knows where I can get it in a relatively cheap price? Or would anyone like to sell it to me?
Thank you for the replies in advance~^^

Are you S-line? If you're not S-line I have one for sale (glossy black with polished aluminum strips- people mistaken the polished aluminum for chrome) and I'm local.

I believe this is a < $50 dealer item. I actually went the opposite way - my car was originally sold in Washington and came with the non-plate filler panel. My salesman mentioned that their cost was in the ~ $35 range for the one I needed.

Integration: Mine is not S-Line so your part may fit there, but it seems to me that my grille is in a non-glossy dark gey color...(and the body is white). If the item you have is glossy black, that might be a little different. Thank you anyway~
VroomVroom: Thank you for the information, but unfortunately, the dealer asked me of way over the price you've paid.

Make them sell you 100 at that price...
If you look at the average selling price it is around $90-$95. There is VERY little profit to be made (about 7%)

^ Wow! Sorry for the misinformation. Teach me to trust a sales rep. :) I guess now I ought to consider selling the blank filler plate in my garage.

i got mine from ECS for $60-something for the S-Line filler. and then i had it painted black at a local body shop to match the paint. i like the finished result. although sometimes i think i should've gotten black strips.
in any case, here is a pic:

FYI, I was curious about this, so I just got a quote from Sunset Imports. While I was off on the < $50 estimate, these are most certainly under $100 and the margins are apparently significant enough for a healthy discount off list.
I haven't sold mine for a coupla' reasons. I'm holding out hope that the front license plate will become unnecessary, in which case I could re-use that panel. Also, in the past, I've had a bad habit of selling things and then wishing I hadn't. :) Since it's not taking up much space in the garage it's out-of-sight-out-of-mind.
In any case, here are the part numbers for the grey filler panels. Sorry - I'm not sure which one has the indent for the license plate.

fine too.) Please emai me and let me know when we can meet

I know I'm off topic but where did you get you S4 rear valence? I read that you got it for ~$70 + extra paint. Where you bought it they have the RS4 rear valence too?
Thanks
BTW very nice job on yours... you inspired me!!!

Ha...thanks!
I got the S4 rear valance from Sunset Imports in Oregon. Great folks - if you give 'em a shout ask for Loree or Nate.

I'm sure they'd be happy to sell you an RS4 valance if you'd prefer. They just sold me the RS4 rear anti-sway bar, end links, and hardware. :)
