Finally got to spend some time on my SUV today - it was sorely in need of a detail.

Process & product:
1. Wash wheels, tires, & wells w/ Poorboy's shampoo, dedicated mitt, brushes, & two buckets.
2. Presoak body w/ foam gun (thanks, Phil!) & Poorboy's shampoo.
3. Wash body w/ same goodies.
4. Clay w/ Four Star clay bar & Poorboy's Spray & Wipe.
5. Quick re-wash.
6. Spot polish w/ PC & orange pad, using Optimum Compound.
7. Spot polish w/ PC & orange pad, using Menzerna FPII.
8. Four Star UPC by hand, mf applicator with med-light elbow grease on application.
9. Four Star UPP by hand.
10. Tires w/ two light coats of Poorboy's BnB & Adam's applicator (is there any better, I mean seriously?). Residue applied to wheel wells, running board pads, & rear bumper pad.
11. Wheels were in pretty bad shape from a winter of neglect. They received Poorboy's SSR2 w/ terry pad, followed by Clearkote metal polish. Ditto the exhaust tips.
12. Glass w/ Adam's glass cleaner...my first try with this stuff. The jury is still out between it & Stoner's.

Then it was off to take some pics before the pollen could collect.

I'm always amazed at what UPP does for the finish on this truck. Amazing pop, yet enough wetness and reflectivity to give the impression of a darker color. I'll apply a second coat tomorrow, and even being parked outdoors I know I'll get at least two months of durability. I just bought some FMJ from Phil, but UPP has been my go-to for so long it'll be very interesting to compare.

Thanks man, but don't let me fool you! I make the payment on the Audi, my wife makes the one on the Lexus, and we fortunately paid off the SUV before buying either of the cars.

I'd love to drop the Lexus and throw some 18's on there....I even have the wheels picked out...but I only get dirty looks whenever I mention either possibility. :) Honestly, the Lexus rides so nice I'm not sure I'd drop it even if it was 'my' car. Definitely nothing sporty about it, but man....talk about cruising in comfort.

^^^Are you on SUVWorld.com forums too? I used to have a black denali and I remember your truck. The reason I remember is that I actually showed the guy at my exhaust shop a pic of your (apparently old) rear exit exhaust to model mine after. I think my account is still on SUVWorld.com, which reminds me i need to delete it.

VroomVroom,

Nice job and great looking truck.

I think I need to pick-up one of those foam guns.

How do you like PoorBoys shampoo?

Have you tried Adam's Detail Spray for the clay lube? I've tried a bunch of products and it works awesome...plus it smells good. [:D]

Thanks!

Yep - I'm on SUV World. Don't worry about your account - it'll be automatically "archived" after a long period of inactivity. :) Anyway, I got a screamin' deal on a Corsa Touring exhaust last year and had to pull the trigger. One of the best mods I've done for sure.

Poorboy's shampoo is good. I prefer Four Star and Duragloss, but I'm not overly picky....whatever good stuff I can get in quantity. I just stocked up on a few gallons of Four Star, so I'll be set for ahwhile. I also usually stock up on Meguiar's Gold Class for the wheels & wells, but I haven't seen it at Costco recently.

I've got some Adam's spray, and have used it as a clay lubricant. Since I don't really care much for it as a QD, it's perfect in that role. :) Spray & Wipe is the magic elixir in my arsenal, though - I absolutely love that stuff.
