Can i clay bar my windshield to get rid of the little dots and such that you cant take off with window cleaner. If I run my hand over the windshield i can feel little bumps, will the clay bar get rid of these bumps im feeling. Also, do i need to use a speed detailed with the clay bar on the window or just a clay bar?

Absolutely. I think you'll be pleased with the results. I clay by hand, and use the same method as on paint. You probably won't see a difference, at least until it rains, when the wipers will run more smoothly and streak-free.

you can definitely tell the difference in the rain

+1 ... I do all my glass on a new car. It really helps get rid of the manufacturing and transport goop. After that first time, I normally only do my windshield and rear glass... anything with a wiper will benefit.

I have little paint dots that are on my the plastic on the sides of my windshield, what can i use to take that off? I didn't think the clay bar would be effective on plastic

Will this help remove waterspots from all my windows?

it depends but yes it could get rid of water spots on your windshield.

In my experience, no. However, a mild paint polish - or something like Zaino's glass polish - will.

Yes, some are more aggressive then others. I like Mothers clay personally. Pinnacle Ultra Poly clay is probably the least aggressive.

Sonus green clay is the least aggressive clay out there. The OTC clays are all pretty much the same.

Water spotting is not going to come off unless it's very recent (within hours). Our Glas Polish (http://www.1z-usa.com/glass.html) is very good and removing the spots you mentioned, removing deep grime, wiper blade residue, etc from windshields and mirrors. Used with a dual action oribital, it's even more effective. But you don't want to use it on plastic headlights or any clear acrylic because it's too abrasive for those applications.

which clay bar did you use? I think with time you can still get it off with clay.
Or use some 3m adhesive remover. Or you can use a polish.

just clayed my car for the first time yesterday...used mothers...man does it make the paint feel smooth. its not perfect, and im sure there is still a lot of contaminants(car does have 100k+ miles and, to my knowledge, has never been clayed) but it feels 100x better than before. there is still a bit of sap on the fender i need to finish removing later.
i also used it on my wheels to remove the yellowing and black specs from brake dust. it really helped a lot.

You can heat the sap up with a hair dryer and itll come off easier.
