View Full Version : Spark Plug Suggestion???

02-19-2007, 12:49 AM
Well its time to change my spark plugs. Recently I got a 91 APR chip and when I got it installed when I would hit higher boost my car would ping like a mofo. What type of plugs should I be running with my current set up which is a full 3” custom exhaust with a e-code TP, and a 91 chip. I want to get my car in a proper working order by tomorrow, so I guess I need help ASAP. Lol.

Thanks Ado.

i just talked to APR and they sed to use NGK PFRQ. they also sed that one of the resons that my car is pinging is cuz the fuel fileter needs to be replaced, the fule pump might be on its way out, or just the plugs too. i have replaced the filter before and it wasant long ago too.

I run these as well. They are cheap but you will need to replace them at least every 10K.

If the engine still pings w/BKR6E, try the 7E, they are one range colder

NGK BKR6E with a gap of .028

I thought it was .032... no?

i've tried both .028 and .032 and then some in between and I've found that at higher boost on my pc-16 file that the .028 gap works better. .032 would pry be fine for a mild chip and k03 setup. i also found that at the .028 gap, the 7e's worked better for me. the 6e's had cold start problems.
