I was excited, it's like getting presents...

Anyone know if I'll have problems with salt if I install it now? I'm thinking of waiting for the warmer weather. [up]

Tiny? I think not friend.

I got it on Ebay as Sean said. It was sold to me by a user called just-intercoolers, and specializes in custom mounts, and piping. His feedback is at 100% and I can see why. This is FAR better looking than I ever imagined... And will make it a cost effective needed mod for me when I put on the 2871R.

Now all I need is a better clutch and I'm ready for to join the BT guys!

I will post pics of the install, and after it's on... Hopefully with a better camera.[:D]

Oh and Creech, I'm glad you got them, sorry for all the hassle, and thanks for all your patience! [up]

we should get more people and do a group buy like $teady$upreme said. i dont care if we get it cheaper, i jsut want more clients for the guy if you say he sells good stuff.

My buddy Arif has a Greddy Front Mount that is pretty much the same size, and he has a 2871R. If I have problem, I'll just get a bigger one from this guy. The piping should be fine for anything.

I didn't even bid on that on ebay, I emailed him and said I wanted the core and 2 1/2" piping. He also included clamps, couplers, and 2 hump couplers for $200 altogether.

Thanks about the Pumas, I love them [:D]

I've gotta talk to someone about the sensor, and whatever to mount to a 2000, but I don't think it will be difficult to figure out by myself.

Also, a question, the actual core inlet and outlet are both 2", but my piping is 2 1/2". Anyone know where I can get some couplers that will fix that? Thanks

didn't look at your kit too closely, but there are a few things you'll need to consider in this project...

1. map sensor on the cold side http://www.42draftdesigns.com/18tmapsensors.htm

2. diverter valve flange on which ever side you chose. some guys chose to put it on the cold side when they do their own custom plumbing kit. I went with the stock location.

this is where I got most of my silicone from http://www.siliconeintakes.com/ <--- very reasonable prices and the guy seems to be pretty cool. There are several other stores out there that are silicone specific, but this one always seemed to have what I needed.

Do you need these parts??? What do you mean by diverter valve flange???

both DBW and nDBW cars will need a flange somewhere on the boost tubes to connect to the DV.

Only DBW cars will need the Map Sensor flange.

By DV flange, I'm refering to a small, short piece of 1" tube welded onto one of the boost pipes (either on the hot or cold side) that allows you to hook up your DV. Your DV goes between the boost tube and the turbo intake. If you are running a BOV you will still need this flange on the boost tubes to connect the BOV.

<edit>
here's a pic of EVOMS kit - see the long black tube on the left? see the little black tube welded onto the long black tube? = DV flange.

welded???? wtf i thought this is a easy job. You gotta a link to this tube your talking about???

HAHA - when is anything custom ever easy? [;)]

Like I said in my first post, I didn't look too carefully at this kit and the supplier you guys are talking about. But from the looks of the box, I'm guessing he sent you some 90, 45 and maybe 70* bends with all the necessary silicone and t-clamps? If this is the case, then I'm guessing it's not a B5-A4 specific kit, but rather something that can be made to fit. Again, if this is the case, then the kit is likely not supplied with a DV flange or a MAP sensor flange. Both of which will need to be welded on (again, nDBW will only need the DV flange).

As far as where to get this little short section of tube, that I don't know. I ordered up a long 3ft section of 1" alum tube when I did my custom setup and used all of that tube for welding practice. I had just enough for the intake and boost side flanges.

<edit> here's the link to my build re-thread (post AZ crash) from a while back - it doesn't tell the whole story like the original thread did, but you can see some of what I did. The routing of my plumbing is different then what most are doing, but you can at least get an idea. http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php?t=94960

audisnapr is there any real cons to runing the dv off the stock hose on that side? I've seen it done so I don't think it would be a problem.

audisnapr
02-16-2007, 06:34 AM
you mean cut up the stock hose that comes off the turbo outlet and splice in the new alum tube after the dv flange?

Only problem I can see with that is the size of the factory boost hose. I'm guessing its a bit smaller and you won't be able to simply splice the new alum tube to the factory rubber one. Other than that, I can't see why that would be a bad thing. Just make sure the factory hose is still in good shape after you cut the end off
