Ok well I've kind of thought that my DV blows off REALLY loud... I have a 710N that I purchased from a member on Audiforums.. Anyone else running the GIAC chip with a 710N DV... Is it pretty loud? Mine seems really loud, compared to a friends with GIAC and I believe EvoMS..

Would it be a sign of a possible leak if my DV is really loud? Tryin to figure out this 12psi crap.. I don't think it's just cuz of the cold.

If the N75 valve is really loud it might be blowing off to Atmos instead of back thru the return hose. See if your friend with the EVOms valve will let you throw it into your car to see if there is a change.

Well another friend with a GTi is gonna sell me a Bailey's valve... So I guess I'll try that first...

It just seems like it's not holding the pressure, it hits 12psi and STOPS... doesn't even try to go any higher.

( I also bought a new boost gauge, that I should have soon )

make sure to clean and lube the bailey valve before installing it into your car.

Make car is almost doing the same thing, peaking at twelve. I had a leak but i fixed it. Now I am starting to think that my crappy cone filter is clogged up with salt and other debris, choking my TIP. Also i am going to clean and relube my EvoMS diverter valve, Ill let you know of the results

Bosch 710N is a sealed valve that uses a diaphram vs a piston like the bailey. Valves that use a piston need to be cleaned and lubed because the piston slides against the inside of the valve body which tends to be metal. Same reason there is oil on the cylinder wall wall between it and the piston.

Just take the valve apart, clean everything on the inside and then use a syn based greese like Mobile 1 on the surface where the piston and body might make contact. You can find it at the Auto Parts store in a long tube used for installing into a lube gun, you might also be able to find it in a much smaller tube. The reason for doing this is to make sure the piston wont bind when it needs to move.

Yeah that makes sense, since the 710N is plastic with a rubber insert...

I have a 710N DV, and when my boost is turned up during the summer its really loud. Its mostly becasue of my intake though.

I'm sure you've already checked/thought about this, but have you checked your N75 to see if thats whats putting you at 12psi.

Also I would make a boost leak tester and pressurize your system to try and find any boost leaks,when I made mine all I did was buy two 3" PVC endcaps. Put one endcap inside the intercooler piping going into the intake manifold and clamp it,then take the other one and drill a hole in it and thread in a small copper nipple. Then place that inside the TIP and clamp it. Then pump up the system and listen closelyy.

I'm going to try the DV first, but if it is the N75, anywhere I can find one for less than $80? Damn that sucks lol.

I have a New one that I'll sell you for 80$ its actually the race version I believe. I got f**ked and paid 300$ for Klaus Euromotive to put it in for me. my car was in limp mode for EVER and I couldnt figure it out, that shitty place charged me 300$ and it fixed my problem for about 3 days.... I picked up a MBC and I havn't seen limp mode since.

So i would suggest just grabbing a MBC off ebay, or if you want you can pick mine up for 80$.

The only drawback to the MBC is that boost comes on HARDD and its not nearly as smooth as the N75,but I kinda like that so..

if you wanna stick with an n75 race though you can always have a shop throw a diode on your map sensor if it keeps being thrown into limp. which one do you have h j or k

yup thats another option..

I'm not sure what letter it is exactly, I looked at it but I'm not sure how to tell the diffrence,I just remember when I got it put in I specified that I wanted the "race version" and they told that was actually the only one they had in stock.

you can make a boost controller out of 2 NPT barbed connectors a spring and a bb, just to let you know

I bought a MBC, but I haven't gotten yet...

Just replaced my boost gauge and now it spikes at 18-19psi and holds 15-16...

Go figure... It was my damn gauge.
