2/24 GTG aftermath... indoor karting anyone

Im sure enough folks will be down for some indoor karting after the meet. GKR is in Burlingame just across the San Mateo Bridge then 101 North to the Broadway exit.

5pm to 8pm they run the super track. This is both tracks put together. If we go earlier then we can run either track since they wont be combined yet.


Here is the pricing:

Race: $45. Each additional race $40.
A RACE begins with a 5 minute QUALIFYING session, based on fastest lap time. As the qualifying session ends, the racers are lined up on the starting grid, based on your qualifying time, for a 15 minute race to cross the finish line first.

Grand Prix: $60 (Great for Groups)
Drivers go out for 10 minutes of practice, take a 10 minute break and look at their race results (brag a little), then go back for 5 minutes of qualifying, line up on a grid and race for 15 minutes to cross the finish line first. 50-55 laps.

Some of you might know what a real kart like a 125cc shifter feels like and might think this is panzy stuff right? I have been down the straight in a 125 shifter at Infinions track at 85-90mph and I still think this indoor thing is a ton of fun!

Im not expecting to many once you guys see the prices but im gonna say that its worth the fun you will have.

FYI: If you dont have a GKR license the cost is $7 for the license.

Say it aint so... im 230lbs. but for some reason my skills behind the wheel of anything keep me up there with some of you feather weights.

I'm 230lbs too and some of those karts at GKR can easily get me sideways coming out of a turn. That means they have more than enough power. I forget which track it is that has that stupid bridge but you can count me out on that track. The other track is my favorite. I like the long straightaway to the finish. [;)]

We can do either or. Majority wins. I like the track with the hump! To many people scrub speed right before the hump and it makes for perfect "SHAO LIN" passing.

I usually bring helmet, gloves, and my old PB shoes!

Dont forget your gear if you have any ie helmet, gloves, suite, shoes!!! I just bring my helmet and gloves.

We were there from 4 to 7. I only stayed till 5pm. The sad part is only Alex and his buddy in the STi came along (thanks for reppin guys).

Only had a spot to practice a quick 10 min session and they stayed for the 6pm race. His silver B5 was parked in front and so was my Avant.

lol maybe I was blind :| the only Audi I saw was a stock silver B6 Sedan when I rolled by there at around 830..I was about to go in when I passed by at around 6pm, but there were many smokers out front, and I didnt wanna get all stinky and crap :|

im still sore from it my buddy Jake and i placed 1 - 2 in the race , i got 1rst with average time of 32.30 with a total dur da dur holding the entire corseu p with his Daily Driving style.... fucking idiot but besides that me n jake were right on eachother he had a average of 32.58 our best times were 31.19 for me and jakes was 30.86 this was on monza track it was a great time ill post some pics when i get time to edit all the pics n such but i was pissed i couldn't beat my all time best of 29.71 on monza, definiatly a kick in the ass though thx for not ditchin us Mo even though we almost ran over that guy rollin out from the truck. ahha

I havent ran GKR in years and I have gained about 45 lbs. since then. I definately cant get around that track like I use to. I was able to hang with Jake for three laps right on his ass but then fatigue set in and so did slower lap traffic. Comming off the hump and out of the start/finish I couldnt accelerate out as fast as he could. hes 170 and im 235 lbs. You guys both held some good times though.

Sorry I couldnt go, by the time 4pm walked around I had to go back to San Jose, so icouldnt swing by.

I don't know about you guys I slept at 6pm that night cuz I was sooo tired for some reason. ?!?! too excited the day before and only slept 3 hrs.
