Woah , whats up with that intake manifold? Going to be avaliable any time soon? Or is it a one-off?

It is a Ross Machine Racing manifold that I modified. It took a quite e bit of time, but I could replicate it. I am working on a better solution.

Summit Racing. Made by DEI. Pretty nice stuff. I made a real effort to shiled everything I could from heat damage.

Crank HP. I think there is more, but I also think it pays to be conservative.

CAT 3653

Don Supreme

^Bob you recommend the cat 3653 over the 3651 for that size turbo (or bigger) on the OEM ECU?

I love the way the turbo sits (I hope mine sits in a similar location). Its far back from the headlight and tilted to use the free space where the airbox used to sit.

Also, why are you going with 630cc for custom tune. Why not bigger like 750cc to maximize potential? Are 630s big enough if the owner wanted to push it a little past 500 CHP (unless this is your car....)?

Did anybody else notice the "Z" flow APR intercooler that doesn't use the stock cross tube ???

The 3653s are better, but only for a custom tune. If you have a generic tune, the 3651s are a better deal.

I picked the 630s because they are more likely idle well and pass emmisions, plus they have an excellent spray pattern and are large enough for the task.

Sweet ----- When is the custom tune being done?

Only problem is I am not sure if 630s will meet my goals. I would like to put down 400 AWHP. Do you think 630s can safely support.

Good question. February I hope.

They certainly can do it on race gas. I made 460 or so with 55lb/hr on the engine dyno. May be a stretch with pump gas though. Dynojet, no problem.

Daily driver

Hope your motor lasts longer then mine has(2nd time having rings/bearings replaced), I guess making 300hp/liter is a bit hard on a motor.

BTW the setup looks great.

Well not really rebuilt, but it was refreshed with rings/bearings back in late 2005 and has to be done again.

^ Do you have low compression (or uneven) or is the motor make noises or what?

jrodmk2
01-23-2007, 12:22 PM
he might not run quite as boost as you mike. i bet he is looking at 20lbs for the 400 mark and a bit more for the 500 mark. good stuff.

mike-2ptzero
01-23-2007, 02:21 PM
^ Do you have low compression (or uneven) or is the motor make noises or what?

compression below 100psi in 2 cylinders but at this point the main bearings have uneven wear and the crank sensor wheel bolts backed out so it is loose which is why the car would not start.

jrodmk2 - yeah he should be fine running 20-25psi, running 32psi is very hard on the motor and so is using the launch control/anti lag.
