View Full Version : Big fat kudos to STaSIS...and Matrix!

After a week of research I ended up making a very easy decision - having a STaSIS Street Sport suspension installed on my car by...none other than STaSIS.

Unintentionally I ended up talking with Alex @ STaSIS and Jeremy @ Matrix at the same time. Both guys are true pros - gracious, generous with their time, and chock full of knowledge. Here's extending a big thanks to both gentlemen for answering all my questions (many of them stupid, I'm sure) with candid answers and remarkable response time. [up]

I'm fortunate enough to work roughly 40 miles south of the STaSIS facility. This week the moon & stars lined up nicely in that they not only had the parts in stock but also had an opening on their schedule for the installation. Bada boom...that's more than enough for an instant gratification junkie like me.

Before I share some stunning pics, you'll have to let me bore you with some thoughts.

HOLY FREAKIN' COW!

That about sums it up. I am totally amazed and simply could not be happier with the car. I was honestly quite nervous about this. My A4 is a driver...to the tune of close to 30k miles/year. I'm coming from and SUV and a pickup, so even in stock form I fell in love with the handling performance. And the ride quality. That was my biggest fear. The folks at both STaSIS and Matrix easily cast aside my concerns about rub and fitment. But even with their assurance that the penalty to ride quality would be minimal I was a bit uneasy. The judgment? I should've trusted 'em and kept my blood pressure low. The increase in ride firmness is very subtle and is really only noticeable on harsh bumps and dips. At that it's easily something I can live with, and as an old man of 39 I'm pretty sensitive to this stuff. [rolleyes]

One quick word about the STaSIS facility. Impressive. Actually, that's not a strong enough word. Awesome. By far the cleanest and most organized shop environment I've seen, with an office/meeting area to match. And the people are even better. Along with Alex, I got to chat with Jason for quite a bit, and with Ford, who did the install. Friendly, professional, and almost ridiculously knowledgeable.

Ok...sorry to take so long for the eye candy.

Arriving this morning, and looking very tall.

Either I suck with a camera in hand, or Jason drives so fast in 'reverse' that he blurred the pic. I prefer the latter possibility.

And the money shot.

Ok, sorry for such a long-winded post. The bottom line: if you're even remotely considering a STaSIS Street Sport suspension.....DO IT!

Can't believe I missed this thread until today.

I had my STaSIS suspension installed there as well, purchased from Matrix too. Another [up] for a great bunch of guys!

Quick three-week-minus-one-day update. I am still totally loving it. Twice now I've encountered scrub when hitting harsh dips. One at about 30mph and the other at ~ 65. I can't tell if I'm hitting the fender liner or the fender itself, but there isn't any noticeable damage on the front tires. I'll keep an eye on this, but for now...no harm, no foul. No other complaints or problems. The car has been loaded with four people and light cargo, and two people and a back-seat down load of my electric bass rig. No problems whatsoever.

The suspension has settled a bit, and the car sits minutely lower than it did in the pics above. I need to get some more pics, but am currently working on a coupla' more mods. The look is just awesome, and I get compliments on a regular basis. I'm currently looking for a local shop to do a suspension alignment, after which I'll consider this absolutely complete.

[up] Jerry.
I bet the tire is hitting the plastic fender liner.
Continue having fun with it!!

Does STaSIS have a reputable shop near (within 100-200 miles) Fort Myers, FL that I can have their Center Diff installed? I'm tired of going to mickey mouse shops only to find out I could have done a better job myself.

Had the opportunity to give the Stasis Signature series A3 a spin around a couple of blocks--holy cow!

The power, the brakes, the differential...i'm still having flashbacks of how great it felt on the road.

Awesome guys to work with as well. I'm going to have to make a road trip to the facility and race track one of these days. Nothing but shining things to say about the team@ STaSIS.
