Pissin me off!!!

So im driving home last night around 9:00. I drive a 2007 A4 tip-tronic. I had it in 3rd gear and I stepped on the gas...all the way to the floor. The car sort of learched forward and the RPM's just shot up like it was in neutral. After I let off the gas the RPM's went down and it clicked into gear. So i continued the drive home and everything was fine. Today im comin home from school and now im in 3rd gear again, I shift into 4th and it never shifted out of 3rd for about 10 seconds. The RPM's just stayed madd high. Anyone know whats goin on?[mad]

i know the tip won't let you upshift to fast when in tip mode....i know if you around say 10-15 mph and your in second....and if you don't try to go fast the tip won't let you shift up, or it will bog bad.....

but you're saying its more like the trans is trying to shift, but hesitates as you apply more gas....like the trans disconnects from the engine??.......thats wierd i've never had nor heard of this problem before....

does this happen in D or S modes???

i'll check my bentley manual cd, there are technical bulletins that get updated when i open the software from time to time.....i remember some kinda issue with the "shift gate"....i forget....

idk if this is ur problem but when ur in any mode theres a switch on the gas u can feel it if u press it u feel a lil stopper then u can go farther when u go all the way down if ur rpms are too low it will shift down so like u were saying u were in 3rd and stepped on it it problem went into 2 insted of 4th like u though

Yes i am chipped. APR stock 91 93 and 100. it was set on 93 when this happened

Don't tell me.... I had some issues like this using a APR 93 program.

I have a CVT and I was running 3500 rpms when I stepped on the gas and the car wouldn't go...

The is another thread about it....

I definetly say: Take to the dealer. They were inspecting my car but when they saw the TP they ask me to put the cat converter back on to finish the tests. I have 12k now and I'll wait untill my 15k maitenance to take the car back with the cat converter.

there is a kickdown switch when you accelerate hard...that's probably why it downshifted. What mode were you in? D, S, tip? IIRC the kickdown works for all driving modes.
