ok guys, my 2 piece depo lights are starting to get a little water in them. i like the lights, but i dont want this to keep happening so im looking to get some ecodes. he lights will be fine for a while, so this isnt gonna happen any time soon. i just gotta start saving so i thought i would look into the price. ECS has a xenon ready and non xenon ready pair. im confused on what the difference is...particularly with what makes it xenon ready and is it worth the extra $$$ for that.

the link is http://ecstuning.com/stage/edpd/pagebuild_v2.cgi?make=Audi&engine=1.8T&model=B5%20A4&submodel=Quattro&category=Lighting&subcategory=Headlight. does anyone know of a cheaper place to get them?

i believe Xenon ready means you can transfer your OEM HID components into the new housings. And non-xenon ready is just the Halogen versions. If you dont have stock HID's now your better off buying the Non-Xenon housings and picking up an HID kit.

the xenon ecodes have a place on the bottom for the ballast to screw in...

they also have a different projector to accept the d2s bulb...

if you have halogen headlights now, get the halogen ecodes, dont worry you can still put an h7 HID kit in them later, plus they are cheaper...

Explicit has some nice Depo ones he bought off ebay

Item number: 320069493581

this store keeps selling them over and over.. so i think you will have time to get them from that place :)

Idk where he got the HID lights from or what the headlights came with.. PM him [wrench]

yea, the depo versions look exactly like my Valeo...

im sure they are halogen projectors, but like i said, when the time comes, just get an h7 HID kit if you want HIDs

i got mine at ECS about 2 years ago for 349+shipping, and i have noticed the price has gone up... (due to having to be imported, cost of fuel, value of a dollar bullshit)

399 seems like a good deal for OEM valeo housings... dont forget the wiring kit.

At the time, the wiring kit was cheaper at AWE, and with shipping charges it was still cheaper than buying it all from ECS...

I came out at $410 shipped for headlights and wiring... so you may want to look into buying the wiring kit elsewhere..
